One of my favourite cinemas in Dublin

Central location, great selection of popular and indie films and a nice cafe/restaurant should you need coffee or a meal. Just a nice place to visit overall.

We came on our last day in Dublin and we needed a rest from walking miles. Wonderful experience small and romantic, only costed us €8 each.

A very comfortable warm cafe and restuarant. I had the falafel and mushroom soup which were both reasonably priced and tasted good. Service was very good - its a nice place to chill out and read the paper at the weekeend - Im working in Dublin at the moment.

A group of twenty cinema buffs booked a few tables in the mezzanine where we held our annual film quiz followed by dinner. The service was great. Everybody had their meal served at the same time. I can only speak for my own meal but I had the boeuf bourguignon, which was delicious.

Arrived an hour before film due to start. Placed order for food and drinks, took at least 20 mins for drinks to arrive, had to remind waiting guy. The food when it did arrive was dreadful, chips tasted like they had been cooked in old, over-used oil. Fish was dry and over cooked. Just finished eating on time to make... More

Arrived 45 mins before a movie to get a sandwich. Asked for a menu after ten minutes. Another fifteen before order taken. Staff all use polite language but scowl when you talk to them. Awful.

Horrific service. The waiter was extremely rude, aggressive and insulting. We brought this to the attention of another server but there was no follow up. The first waiter then followed us out shouting and a manager pulled him back, then proceeded to berate us for not complaining to him personally, said that his waiter and not been rude, and when... We just arrived to see The Neon Demon. They immediately admitted us in the cinema room, not exactly the cleanest cimema in the world but anyway... I went downstairs to take a couple of beers. I told a couple of times to the girls at the bar that I needed to carry the beers in the cinema room, please give... More

I saw a movie here today for the first time in 5 years and it remains as uncomfortable as ever. Worst cinema for comfort and quality I've been to. I have no idea why it doesn't invest some money in upgrading the seating and the facilities.

The Irish Film Institute stands in a quiet corner, not far from the much busier streets of Temple Bar. In the building next to it, there's the library and archive, which I did not have the time to visit, but looked quite promising. The film selection is very good, with independent films from everywhere (it belongs to the Europa Cinemas... More
