We decided to go here because we were on a trip to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday and she is heading to college to become a writer. You can't be in Dublin and not know the rich history of all the amazing story tellers and...More

I can appreciate the reviews advising that it needs an update. It does need a lift to the first floor, otherwise disabled visitors are not getting the complete tour, and should be offered a discount. Having said that, the old fashioned display suits the subject...More

The title says it all. Not bad, but a bit over-pricey. The audio tour is a must, otherwise you would just end up looking at a few books in display cases.

The history and information in the exibits is wonderful but could be displayed in a better manner. The building is in need of repair...water stained walls, musty smelling and extremely warm.

The Writers Museum is an old house dedicated to great Irish writers, playwrights, poets, etc. from Joyce to Yeats. The place needs some updating for sure (hopefully with our ticket fees), but make sure you don't miss the stunning upstairs rooms!

My visit to this little museum reminded me how much I loved James Joyce in college and introduced me to other Irish writers. I appreciated its egalitarian focus that included women like Mary Lavin and Kate O'Brien, whose work I sought out. It's a quiet...More

Really interesting museum about Dublin authors from Jonathan Swift until present. It made me eager to read more Irish literature. I spent one hour here which was all I had but was too little to really have the time to appreciate the exhibitions, my advice...More

The Dublin Writers Museum has an excellent display of first editions, letters, and related works by all of the best known Dublin writers (Joyce, Yeats, Heaney) and lesser known but important writers, as well. The wall markers are very helpful in understanding the role and...More
