Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our first hop-on hop-off experience and we have no regrets. Buses were frequent and we did not have to wait for more than 10-15 minutes to catch the next. We chose this as a shore excursion option but for those who are traveling on there own, you can get a ticket/mail from any of the drivers at the various stops. I would recommend downloading the app as many of the buses do have live route information so you’ll have a good idea of when one is approaching. Printed maps are provided and do have the major sites and corresponding stops featured. The best part of the service was the drivers/guides who were very entertaining and enthusiastic. I don’t recall all of their names but Robbie and Jerry stick out as very engaging and amusing.

Super fun trips with the help of tour guides who make everything much more joyful and appealing!
Very good price, considering that, as a couple, we paid 86 euros for 2 days of travel, including a night trip around the city to see the Christmas lights!
We were always guided by Roby, an excellently friendly and very funny man who spoke to us about the city as if he had known it for years (maybe he has).
A great option for those traveling to Dublin for the first time, as was our case, and want to see almost everything in a short time!
It's worth it, enjoy it. I hope you have the opportunity to meet Roby!

Booked a 48hr ticket last weekend, including the night tour and allowed us to hop on and off on the other days to use as to see all the sights. Jimmy was fabulous, somehow we managed to pick his bus on three separate occasions and he gave the best live commentary, extra detail and some extra sights. On our last day, he gave us a personal trip to the Guiness Storehouse so we could.make our ticket time!

Mixed feelings on this one as we got off badly. We paid for the full option list, two days and all tours, which was the best value when comparing to other Tours.
So first day, we where stood waiting at the stop with another couple and a Tour Rep'.
The Bus approached, slowed down, then as another Bus company was already there they carried on ! Leaving us standing. The rep' had no way of contacting the Driver and was at a loss what to do. Stopping further down would have helped ?
At first the rep' tried to placate us with 'another will be along in 20 Minutes'.
This did not really cut it with us. She eventually called her manager, who was actually close by. They then offered us various 'free' add-on's, but as we had bought the full package, this did not help. They offered a refund, in 3-5 days !
By this time we had less than 10 minutes to the next bus, so we went with it.
This made us late for the Gaol Tour but thankfully they where more accommodating.
So, onto the actual tour. There was a mix of live commentary and an audio guide which worked well. Two Drivers in particular stood out, Garry and Gerry, I hope neither of these left us standing ?
They gave good and interesting commentary where required which was especially welcome on the night tour, which in itself was nothing of note, just a day tour in the dark 🤔. However due to an accident we had to divert off route and a good deal of adlibbing followed 👍
Overall a good Tour, tip your Driver it pays dividends.

Very informative. Booked a 24 hour tickets as we boarded at 2pm This was ideal as we revisited part of the tour to take us to the Guinness Brewery tour our sons had booked for us. The bus tour was very well narrated and what was better was when the information was provided by the driver. In total we experienced 2 ‘live’ tours and one recorded. The live tours were far superior, both drivers had additional information, one driver even sang Molly Malone. Great way to see the city and decide what you want to visit and get your bearings. Only negative is at 30 euros it is a bit over priced. If you go in summer would be worth doing the Howth trip and evening tour

Overpriced and the website and the bus stops are very difficult to navigate. They’re not obvious especially if you’re trying to navigate in the rain. The driver offered limited inside into landmarks and certainly not what I was expecting for this lovely city —-wouldn’t likely book again with them.

Great way to get an over the city.
App lets you see exactly where the bus is located so you can time your trip well. We got on near Grafton and road got the Guinness tour. Were able to time leaving to catch the bus minimal waiting.
Upgraded to 48 hour even though only needed 24 hours to get the night bus ride. Well worth it! Also, at least at the time we were there, one kid free (15 or younger) with each adult.
****Note**** fine print!! Don’t buy a kids ticket or it will charge you 20$. You just show the adult ticket to the driver and the kid gets on free. The 20$ saved paid for the upgrade and got the night tour included. We loved the night tour and our 15 yo enjoyed a nap….maybe that is why they are free 😉!
Also if note: while the bus goes in a circle it does break for about 15-30 min when it gets to the last stop before starting. We were counting on the continuous loop to make a dinner reservation so have to walk an would have gotten off at a different stop is we had known.
Overall: well worth the $.

Michale the driver who was also the narrator kept everyone interested, laughing and motivated throughout the 90 minutes bus tour.
What could have been dull and dreary due to the constant heavy rain was transformed into an informative and humourous experience.
Michale's rendering of Mollie Malone was one of the highlights!
As it was pouring with rain, the driver dropped me off right outside my hotel.
What a lovely touch!
Would definitely recommend this tour.

Terrible service. They sell the ticket guaranteeing the multilingual tour in 8 languages, then the audio guides on board the buses never work or even there aren't even connections. Definitely excessive cost for a tourist bus that has nothing touristy about it as without the audio guides you can't follow any explanation, except in English! Absolutely avoid!

I went on the Big Bus Costal Tour to Howth during my visit. I purchased the Go City pass and was able to secure my spot and ticket at their store location on O'Connell. Despite being December and chilly, the bus did get pretty full so definitely be ready to line up 15-20 minutes before departure to get a good seat. The bus was very comfortable and our guide Ross was great. He gave us lots of facts and stories about the different monuments and locations we passed as we made our way to the Howth cliffs. Once there it is a bit of a steep walk and narrow paths at time so wear appropriate shoes. We then stopped in the small town up the road where we had time to take more pictures and grab a bit and pint. Ross made some excellent recommendations for what to see while there and once back at our starting point gave us some of his local pub recommendations as well. Would definitely book another tour with the Big Bus company.
