- Paradise5320691 contributionGreat day out, highly recommend! My 4 year old nephew loved Clara Lara. He loved the slides and boats and slept like a baby afterwards. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I lost some cash while I was there and a kind stranger handed it in - Pauline from Clara Lara was a great help in getting it back to me. Highly recommend!Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 May 2024

- Suzie NDublin, Ireland88 contributionsGreat family funThis is the best fun day out and very affordable. Once you pay at the gate you aren’t charged for any of the rides etc. Plenty of of picnic tables, huts and BBQ areas and the option of buying some hot food, ice creams, drinks etc too. It’s proper old-school fun! Staff are all fab and really great with kids. Highly recommend it.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2024

Awful place, overpriced, packed as many people in as they could. Money making scam, had to queue over 45 mins for everything so we missed out on the boat trip and a few other things that our 6+8 year olds were looking forward to, they were so upset. Really rough element here, kids running around the place, no parental supervision. No covid safety measures that i could see, no social distancing, sanitizers empty usually. My feeling is that they know most people will only come once so they don't care about repeat business so don't bother making it attractive for return visits. Queued for over 1hr to get in. Biggest waste of 78E. I'll be forever traumatized by my experience in this dump.

Don't go
Massive queues, over priced, dirty water that smelled of sewage in parts.
Had to pay full price for my daughter who was then too small to get on any of the rides.
Queued for 90 mins to get on a rowing boat, handed a soaking wet life jacket that was straight off someone else's back and not disinfected before being given to me.
No concern for Covid at all, just cramming as many people into the park as possible. No social distancing at all.
Lesson learned, will never be back.

Fantastic trip with mixed ages of kids ranging from 15 down to 9. Day a bit cold for the adults but worth it watching the fun the kids had. Even the lanky 15 yr old who was too tall for the go-karts - but was told this nicely by the very pleasant guy attending this activity - had a super time. Great attention to social distancing, staff wearing masks, all very clean. We hadn’t brought food but enjoyed the restaurant. The younger kids went on everything and totally enjoyed themselves. Even lanky had a great time!
All staff are great. Very attentive and making sure any messing is nipped in the bud. Most kids there are encouraged to behave themselves so parents feel they can relax too. Great day out for all. Will definitely visit again when in Wicklow.

I'll say from the outset that we were as responsible for our poor experience as the site owners. That said if we had done our research before visiting we still might not have realised that this is very much a place suited to young families staying for half a day and bringing a picnic. Not somewhere you'd want to take bored teenagers seeking thrills, but not particularly clear from the website.
We paid over 100 € to get in after 2pm, which seemed particularly steep as we were all too big for the go-karts, and so spent at least half an hour on the water slides (admittedly quite cool, but the novelty wore off quite quickly). Crazy golf was tired and in need of updating. Canoes were OK, but not much room to manoeuvre. The food stand had a limited range and was another feature to close while we were there.
Just a bit disappointing really, which was a shame, but perhaps we just misread the marketing.

Arrived at 12.30 to be informed that the park was full, and to come back at 3pm. We came back at 3pm, and had to queue for 40 minutes. We then had to pay full price, despite the time of entry. Then we entered the park to find it packed to over capacity, with huge queues for everything (1 hour in the queue for the boat rides), no staff wearing masks or maintaining any type of COVID rules. They closed all the activities at 5.45pm. We asked to speak to a manager to outline our disappointment, and to highlight the capacity issue, and she responded "you could have left" and was really rude. She didn't make any response to the clear breaches of all COVID rules.
It could be such a nice place, but it is way too busy, and not being managed well. I would avoid it as a result

The worst family day out we ever had. Rude staff, overcrowded, no COVID procedures, dirty facilities and zero consideration for special needs. Overpriced and the food was horrendous. On average we had to queue for over 30 minutes for everything, food was a 45 minute queue plus a 30 minute wait for it after we ordered! It's clear this place is just run into the ground to make money, i don't know how this place is still open, especially given the previous managers reputation which we found out after our visit! It will be a cold day in hell when I'd go back yo Clara Lara!

Went to Claralara with four children on Monday 19th July 2021 during the heatwave. Got there just before 10 from Roundwood side and queued for 15 minutes to get in. If you have the choice the queue is shorter/non-existent if coming from the Rathdrum side.
Weather was brilliant and as a result the park was full but still plenty of space to put down a rug for a picnic. Food is pricey but less than Tayto Park prices. Long queues about 45min for the rowing boats. Just so you know before you go. I reckon would be shorter on a dull day.
Stayed till 6 and no traffic getting back out. The children I brought were age 9-12 and they loved it. All in all a lovely day.

Went with our three grandsons, 13, 12, and 9….. their opinion …. Best day of their lives EVER🤪
Much better than the website would let you think… especially for our boys ages… challenging climbing nets, big rope jumps massive slide, just first class all round.
At €22.50 per child, excellent value, €16.50 per adult, I thought quite a lot.
We were appalled at a family that came and sat just behind us, three women, one man, and several small children, a traveling family for sure, the mess they left was unreal! I felt sorry for whoever was going to have to clean up after them… crisp packets, sweet wrappers, juice cartons, all blowing around everywhere…. One of the mothers actually walked over the outer of a multi pack of crisps about 4 times going to and from their seating area and the barbecue area….
Many different nationalities there on the day we were there, and this family stood out for the mess they left.
A slightly older lady ( staff member or owner? ) did pick up one crisp wrapper right in front of this family, and not a blink out of them ….

Overpriced. Very badly run. Paid in my child couldn't go on anything as the queues were too long. Very badly organised. Agree with all other bad reviews stay clear not worth it. Also when parking ur guided to park and park as close to the car beside you so they can squeeze in as many cars as they can. Honestly forget going any a boat or karting unless ur in the queue for hours and then your day is gone. 100% money hungry situation here. 22.50euro entrance fee to play in a park basically. Would not recommend and would 100% not go back.

hi patricia, i would like to know can 4years old and 3yrs+ go up to the water slide? my boys said they want to go up there when they seen the waterslide ...i a bit worried ; plan to to next year may. thks
Written 4 November 2016
Hi. I do not think that the water slide is suitable for under 8's. It is really for older children. The younger children will have lots to do anyway in the other water play areas. My 9 year old, who adores water, refused to consider trying the water slide last year. It is very steep.
