About
Come visit Rascals HQ in the heart of historic Dublin 8! Located a short walk from Kilmainham Gaol and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Rascals HQ is the home of the independent award-winning Rascals Brewing Company. Here you’ll find our brewery, taproom, pizza restaurant and off-licence. A wide range of freshly brewed beers can be enjoyed, catering for the aficionado and the craft dabbler alike. As well as trying out the core range of beers, you’ll be able to sample new limited edition releases, straight from tank to tap. There are guest beers from the top names in Irish and international brewing. Rascals HQ serves up authentic woodfired pizza in our custom-built pizzeria, where you can also enjoy a selection of wines, spirits and desserts. We have an off-licence so you can choose your favourite Rascals beers to bring home! We are family friendly with a changing room and kids pizzas. Pets are allowed outside and we have Sheffield bike racks for cyclists; parking spaces are plentiful.

Surprise service charges

Booked table for an after work thing. Everything is fine food and drink wise but the 10% service charge ruined it. The Top of the menu says there's a service charge for tables of 6 or more but the booking form doesn't, so you're caught and basically trapped into it. At least thats how I feel. Are your staff under paid? Is this America? What's the story here to sneak this in as a surprise FU to your customers? Ah well. I vote with my feet so just won't go again which is a shame but there's always other places to go that simply don't do this.

Hi there. A 10% service charge for groups is not uncommon in restaurants and, as you've mentioned, it is clearly stated on our menus. This is passed on to staff - they are definitely not underpaid. It isn't a "surprise FU" to customers and to claim such a thing is completely unwarranted.

2 families of 5 had pizza and beer: we loved it.
Lovely ambiance, great beer, great pizza. Cool spot. I will be back. I had told 5 other sets of people today to go.

Great pizza

Visited mid week. Centre of town was very quiet but there was a lot of people seated outside when we arrived. Be eight indoors. We opted for a pizza each and sampled a few of their special tap beers. Very friendly staff, good service and Health guidelines well followed.
We first visited last year and we will definitely be back again.

Lovely pizza, not so nice beer

Really nice staff, despite erroneously booked indoor, we were offered a place outside. Lovely pizza, I'm afraid I'm not a fan of craft beer and despite tasting 4 of them, I can't say I enjoyed any. This was the case of places like the porterhouse until they introduced some mainstream brands: I understand this is a brewery but I would have given 5 star if I was given the possibility to chose a different known beer

Thanks for the positive feedback on the food and the service. Regarding the beer comments, we'd never assume that everybody is going to love our beer all of the time. We know some people prefer different styles and strengths. Nonetheless, just last week our Happy Days session pale ale and Yankee White IPA scooped gold awards at the 2021 World Beer Awards for Best In Country in their respective styles. (It was the second consecutive gold for Happy Days, while Yankee improved on its bronze award from 2020.) The whole point of the restaurant in the brewery is to showcase and promote our beer; having mainstream brands would really defeat the purpose. It would be like visiting a small independent French vineyard and complaining because they didn't have any Blue Nun on offer.

Amazing time. Unreal pizza. 9.5/10 for the pizza alone. John who served was just dead sound. Great vibes and a great way to spend hangover Sunday. Went to stillgarden afterwards and had a great time there too

Had pizza and beer here last week and we all enjoyed our evening. Good selection of pizza and drinks - all very tasty may I add. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The bar has a nice chilled and relaxed vibe - just what we needed after a few hours travelling. Would recommend!

Booked food and drinks, at the end of the night there was no notice of the end of the allocated time for being in the restaurant, people were kicked out and treated very rudely, if there was a time limit on being in the restaurant it should of been communicated at the start of the booking and coming up the end of the booking

Hi Ciaran, sorry you had a bad experience. However, the allocated time notification is on your booking confirmation email and booking reminder email. We also accommodated you in terms of allowing your other group of friends to have your tables together, out of goodwill. Also, the staff member who served you is one of the friendliest members of staff we have and it's unacceptable so allege she was rude to you and your group. It's unfortunate that you decided to leave a 1 star review, given the actual facts of the matter.

Fab venue, great beer and amazing staff. We have been as a couple, with our teenagers and with friends and have never been disappointed. The pizzas are like no other, light healthy base and imaginative toppings. Lots to discover on their craft beers.

I visited during covid lockdown to pick up some beers to take home. There is a really good selection from on premises brews and guest beers.
All the beers are distinct and very tasty, from solid IPAs and helles larger to more interesting pale ales with fruity notes. Definitely worth the trip to pick up something a lot more interesting.
The people running the off licence made it a great overall experience. The smell from the kitchen was amazing - will try to coordinate with dinner time when I go back to restock the fridge and it’s on the list for a proper visit when restrictions allow.
