Andy Mac Donald is an amazing guide! It's just like traveling with one more friend. On top of that, Andy is knowledgeable, has a sense of humor and has excellent taste in music! Best of all, he's a whiz driving on the wrong side (at least according to us Americans) of narrow winding roads. This was a great trip for anyone who wants to take the stress out of vacation and enjoy the glorious views while having engaging conversations.

Best day ever!!! Loved the route, tour guide, everything!! Did the one-day tour from Edinburg. Bus was also comfortable, and all stops were well-timed and enjoyable.

We just completed our 5-day tour. This was our first trip to Ireland, plus our first trip using a tour group. Our driver and guide, Hugh O'Reilly, was a superb driver (especially on those winding roads along the Atlantic!), but an even better guide. Hugh has a vast knowledge of the history of Ireland, and shared many insights as we traveled together. Most of our stops were quite interesting. Hugh also had suggestions for optional activities (a sheep herding demonstration, Celtic Steps show) that improved our trip. We enjoyed our conversations with Hugh, and he was a great storyteller as well. The amazing green hillsides were everything you would expect, but having a terrific guide truly enhanced our trip to Ireland .

My husband and I took the 9 Day All Ireland Explorer tour which combines the Northern Ireland & Atlantic Coast and South West tours. There were 14 people on each segment. Stephanie was the guide for the Northern tour and Hugh for the southern tour. Both were excellent. Other reviews go into detail about the specifics. The small size of the group, the local knowledge of the guides and their commitment to making the trip enjoyable for the group, including willingness to make minor adjustments to the itinerary, made it a really excellent trip. I want to specifically commend Hugh for going above and beyond. In addition to forming a Whats App group for photo and information sharing, after the tour was over, he personally retrieved and shipped to the US a pair of eyeglasses I had left behind. If you go on a trip with a guide like him, you can be confident that things will be well taken care of, even if the unexpected happens, even after the tour is over! Kudos to him and to Rabbies for a wonderful tour!

This was a WONDERFUL 5 days with a terrific guide, Gabriel. He was spot on with everything. He was so full of knowledge and wit! The stops were great, and I felt we were given enough time to explore and shop. I highly recommend this tour but if you get Gabriel you are doubly blessed. Thank you!

This was an amazing tour, but what made it so much more special was our tour guide, Hugh O'Reilly. You can read the review that "justinkY6237CU" wrote, we were on his tour. There is NO WAY I could write a better review, he nailed everything perfectly! This trip was well worth the money, and Hugh made it even better. We loved the intimacy of the small group of 11; by the end of the trip, we all knew each other well, and like Justin said, we'll be staying in touch on WhatsApp. Highly, highly, highly recommend this!!

This was my first time traveling international using a tour group. I wanted to see the most of Ireland and paid for the "Escape to the South West 5 Day Tour." Our tour Guide was Hugh O'Reilly.

After the tour I would recommend this to anyone who would like to travel to Ireland. Our tour had 11 people on the bus. A huge benefit to traveling with Rabbie's is the small group sizes which give you the freedom to be flexible on the trip with what to see and what not. It also helps keep the timing efficient.

The locations we stopped at on each day left me with a sense that I was able to get a taste of the beauty of Ireland in such a short period of time. Along with the well known stops like the Cliffs of Moher, Galway and Blarney Castle, the tour also takes to you lesser known but even more beautiful stops like the Killarney National Park and the Dingle peninsula.

I selected 4-Star accommodations. In Galway and Killarney I was very pleased with the hotels Rabbie's booked for me. The Fairview Hotel in Killarney was especially nice due to its central location. Both hotels were affordable and the staff was friendly.

I can't emphasize enough that our guide Hugh was phenomenal. As with any tour, the guide can make or break the trip. Hugh went above and beyond in every aspect I can think of.

Hugh was incredibly knowledgeable about Ireland. While traveling on the bus he would constantly be giving us helpful information about the area and the history of Ireland. In addition to being knowledgeable he was kind and funny often times making jokes that got the whole bus laughing. He was responsive to questions and always was polite and respectful.

On one occasion after Hugh had told us about a famous Irish explorer who later opened a pub we asked Hugh if we would fit it into the trip. Without hesitation he agreed and added it in our schedule giving us time to see the pub and drink a pint.

Some of my favorite memories of the trip were recommendations provided by Hugh. In Killarney he booked us tickets to see Irish River Dancing which was incredible. Then while traveling through the Ring of Kerry he added a stop for us to watch a Sheep Dog Demonstration. Both were additional costs but completely worth it and very affordable. At Blarney Castle Hugh strategically had us leave earlier that morning than we typically did to beat the crowds. Our group was the first to enter the Castle and kiss the stone. Thirty minutes later the larger tours came in and the line to enter the castle was hours long.

Throughout the trip Hugh kept the bus clean and would clean it every night. He was on time every morning picking us up at each of our hotels and was a safe driver. At every town we stayed in he gave recommendations for the best restaurants and pubs.

At the end of the trip Hugh helped create a WhatsApp group for our tour group and has sent us photos he took during the trip. I will be recommending this to family and friends in the future.

Amazing 5-day tour with Andy MacDonald - super friendly, informative, & kind. He truly wants you to have a fantastic time exploring his gorgeous country, & so you do!! He’s very accommodating & helpful as well.

This is my second Rabbie’s tour this year (I went to Scotland in April), & I think they’re a great company. They have good destinations & itineraries, safe & small buses, & it doesn’t feel like you’re just a number on a gigantic bus.

Ireland is beyond gorgeous. Don’t hesitate to book this tour!

In Edinburgh, we used Rabbies to do the Lochness, Glecoe and Highlands all day tour,. Rabbies only uses 16 passenger buses and our driver, Dave, was very informative and personable. Highly recommend this company and tour.

We just returned from an amazing five night tour through Southern Ireland with Rabbie’s and our driver Andy. This was an unbelievable trip. We were able to see so much more of the countryside than I ever imagined, and go places I never would have thought to go if I were planning on my own. Everything was absolutely beautiful and every valley had a story of its own. Andy was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the local history and customs; he was clearly very passionate about the history of the Island. Our days were filled with a perfect mix of activity and relaxation; we saw and did so much more than was outlined in the general tour guide, but were never overwhelmed or exhausted as sometimes happens when touring. All the accommodations were very central, clean, and offered a hearty breakfast. It was my daughter’s birthday while on the tour and Andy went above and beyond to arrange for a cake and a wee party on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. We could not have asked for a more memorable birthday! My daughter and I were traveling alone this trip. As a final touch at the drop off point, Andy made sure we were safely ensconced in a taxi before he left us. Traveling in a van tour is the way to go! We had a small crew [only eight of us passengers] and Rabbie’s guarantee to travel regardless of group size is marvelous. Andy always made sure we stayed ahead of the large tour buses and took us to the most breathtaking vantage points the big buses could not reach. Andy was flexible with the itinerary to meet the needs of our group. It was my daughter‘s birthday wish to hold a baby lamb and Andy made it happen. Thank you to Rabbie’s and Andy for the trip of a lifetime! I will be booking again!
