Everybody should do this Tour.

We visited 14 Henrietta street last week and were met by the lovely Gillian, our tour host. Gillian's knowledge and passion for our past history and her love of Henrietta Street and it's former residents was evident from the start. Every body should have to visit, to get a sense of where we as a people and a Nation have come from. It was very moving. Well done to all involved in making this important part of our heritage available.

Omg what an experience, the history through the ages and informative videos were fascinating especially the sing along video, the preservation of the building and all the artifacts was fasinating, but the story telling from Gillian made the tour, she was very engaging but most of all the craic we had with her within the group, Her knowledge and talent at story telling was fantastic.

history of Dublin in context

As a Dubliner, this is one of my top places to take visitors. It really puts the history of Dublin and Ireland into context and brings to life the experiences of the people across those decades & centuries. We had a very informative tour by our guide, Gus. Highly recommended.

This is both educational and enjoyable. The film clips add interest and are cleverly presented. Our guide Phelim was a great orator. A thoroughly enjoyable experience

Incredible History of Dublin in days gone bye. From Gentry to absolute Poverty it was all covered. They say they were the good old days? This wonderful experience will educate people about the suffering especially in the early part of the 19 century.

Wonderful insight into the social history of Dublin

I am from Dublin and have wanted to visit Henrietta Street for the long time. Thankfully it was worth the wait. Being guided through each room and era by the informed and entertaining Jason brought everything to life. Jason gave us a real appreciation for just how grim tenement living could be yet how close, caring and inclusive those living there actually were. Being poor, cold and probably hungry didn’t mean that they couldn’t try to help those who were even poorer.
The layout and reconstruction in the house is very sympathetic to the times and the videos were informative and clear. A great way to spend 75 minutes learning more about our past
We were a small group who met in the conveniently located Kings Inn pub on the corner. Perfect spot for meeting up

Don’t miss the walking tour.

Fergus is an excellent guide, adding poetry, song and literary allusions to enhance his telling of the history of Georgian architecture in Dublin, how it shaped the city and the men and women important to the period. Great addition to the museum’s offerings. Leisurely pace, easy for families w strollers and small children.
