Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sunday 23rd July, having been for a walk along Sandymount Strand/Promenade, we continued walking in to the village where this small Green is at it's heart.
It has railings all around with a number of gate entrances, it is triangular in shape. It is flanked on the south side by castellated houses that are part of Sandymount Castle.
There are a number of shops and businesses around the Green including Marios Restaurant, Sandymount House Pub (both reviewed previously) and Borzas Chip Shop.
It was a real treat to sit on one of the park benches, in the early evening sunshine, and share a bag of chips from Borzas. So nice to see people of all ages enjoying the park, people just strolling around, children scampering about or just relaxing on one of the park benches. A tranquil oasis in a busy and bustling village.
Like the walk along the seafront visiting the Green evoked so many childhood memories having grown up very near by.

We arrived in Sandymount to dine a half-an-hour before our restaurant booking and as it was a lovely summer evening we decided where better to take our ease than in Sandymount Green.
This is a typical village green laid out about 200 years ago and still enjoyed, loved and frequented locals and visitors alike.
It has wonderful chestnut trees around the perimeter and a great colourful flower bed as a central feature.
We found a seat to sit on and watch the world go by. There were children playing both on scooters and playing football under the watchful eyes of their parents.
There are two pieces of sculpture well worth seeing they are busts of two Irish Nobel laureates for Literature - W.B. Yeats and Seamus Heaney both of whom lived in Sandymount. Yeats won his Nobel Prize in 1923 and Heaney won his in 1995.
It is extremely fitting to see both of them celebrated publically in Sandmount in this beautiful village green.

Sandymount Green is a small local park that attracts people living in and around it. Its a popular place for parents with children to drop into on the way home from school. With park benches and trees it makes an ideal retreat from the hussle and bussle of the working day. There are lots of place to get a take-away coffee in the vicinity and juts amble in to sit and enjoy it.
