Denis O'Reilly is the ultimate tour organiser. He tailored a day trip to Wicklow for a group of my parliamentary colleagues, including a working sheepdog demonstration, a visit to Glendalough, a short course on how to play hurling (hilarious), a short course on how to make an Irish Coffee (again, hilarious results, but the taste was perfect). Followed by music all the way back to Dublin. I highly recommend Denis. He was helpful for many other aspects of the trip and facilitated all our needs. Thank you Denis and Wild Wicklow Tours for a memorable weekend.

This tour was definitely a ten out of ten for many of my fellow pupils and I. We were picked by Dennis, a super friendly and extremely funny tour guide. Dennis knew everything about everywhere we went, we could ask him countless questions and he would respond with an in depth answer.
I visited with my entire school, we were around 60 students and we were split up into two groups and put into two different busses. We started the tour off with dennis explaining the route on our way to glendalough. We got to play hurley and he explained the rules and it was very fun.
When we arrived at Wicklow mountain we got a delicious lunch packed by Dennis wife, and there was also a vegetarian option which i loved.
All in all this was a very enjoyable tour and we would reccomend this to anyone visiting Dublin.

1st time visit to Glendalough after hearing so many amazing things by friends who have visited on numerous occasions...wow,seeing is belivieng just how beautiful the scenary just is
Myself and my good friend Bridie decided on ascending via the white route which is an absolute challenge physically and mentally but totally worth the effort once you have reached the highest point.
A brief water break at miners way walk followed by another brief stop at what im reliably informed is cockwatch ridge..spectacular vista and a sense of being in another world.
My 1st visit but definately not my last.

Great experience! I enjoyed a lot the Wicklow mountains. The walk was great. And Kilkenny is a nice “city” to visit. I had a fantastic day!! Richard, our tour guide, was amazing, very informative and funny. Wonderful job! :)

Had nothing to do our last day in Dublin so was glad to see availability for this tour at 7am for the 9am tour lol Driver John was hilarious and entertaining the whole time! The tour was way more than I thought it would be. I’m glad I saw posts of some of the stops being short or It would’ve bothered me lol. The coffee break stop to eat is much better than the restaurant for lunch(it was ok compared to the coffee break place). It was cold and windy but that’s Ireland weather for you I guess.

This was my second tour to this area. Great tour, nice stops. Avoca was a bit disappointing. Just an expensive modern shop and tourist drop off.
But as soon as we entered the Wicklow Mountains everything was great.
John was the greatest and entertaining tour guide i ever knew. A guy in his 70s loving his job and his country. Full recommendation!

Last week Denis did a tour for our group of Danish students visiting Dublin.
Everything about the trip was just perfect. Beautiful countryside!
Denis was very good at telling stories and making conversation with our teenagers. The food his wife had made us was lovely and the overall experience was really good for everyone. We were also very pleased with Mick as a driver.
Dennis even helped us book another bus we needed for the next day.
We would highly recommend this tour!

Hi! I'm trying to book a tour with you all but everyday I enter end of September is booked up! Is this possible or is there a reason nothing is available, like you all are closed for awhile bc of Covid? Thanks in advance.

Is this tour suitable for an 80 yr old, with moderately trouble walking that uses a cane? I understand it is a bus trip but unsure how much walking and hill areas are involved.

Yes, very suitable. Just go for upper lake by bus.

Hi, i'm off to Dublin at the end of the month with my daughter for 2 nights 3 days staying at the Stephens Green Travelodge and i would appreciate any help with my questions.
Whats the best tour to Wicklow where i'll get to see places that PS i love you was filmed. Would it be a full day or half day one?
Best places to eat and have a beer with good irish nightlife that's not to touristy as i would like to experience the local life of Dublin more.
Any other advice would be greatfully received. Thanks Sam

Wild Wicklow was brilliant. We stopped off at the bridge from ps I love you and other places of interest. The tour was from 10 until 6. We stopped off on the way and had the time to get some food in the morning. We also stopped in a small village in the afternoon for lunch at a pub.
The best pub we found was called The Cobblestone in Smithfield. It’s a short walk from the tram and is full of locals who play music traditional music, it didn’t seem touristy at all and was one of the highlights of our trip.

Is there room on the bus for luggage? This will be my last day in Dublin and I will have my carry on bag with me. Thanks!

There should be space under the bus. Check with the Tour company.
There also seemed to be a bit of flexibility re drop off. See what might make sense for departure. Careful re timing - we quite happily ran a little late.

It seems that, besides the scenery, the driver is key to the enjoyment of this tour. All the negative reviews that have been posted have been about the driver's rudeness, unprofessionalism, inability to control rowdy students, etc. Is there any way that we can determine who our driver will be about a week before the tour? Or can we determine if our bus is filled with students by the age group that they book under? I realized it's not fair to think that all students would misbehave; perhaps the review was the exception rather than the rule. However, we are seniors and while we love excitement and joyfulness, we do want to hear the driver give history about the area, and if, as previous reviews have stated, the noise level of the students was such that the driver just stopped his commentary it would ruin the day for us.

Thanks for your query. We can never be sure what age profile of the people on board our tour but normally they are all ages from all over the world.. As you can see from other reviews the feedback is 99% positive with guests loving the tour. We would be delighted to welcome you on board. Regards Denis
Hey,if it is possible, i would like to know more information about the lunch in Laragh during the tour. :)
How much does a menue cost around in the restaurant we stop at? Thanks for your answer!

The restaurant most eat at is Lynhams so you can look online and email them for specifics, but it's cafeteria style where you can choose what you want and pay accordingly. It was reasonably priced. But you can eat at one of the other few places in town too.

Is there a restroom on the tour bus?
Dinahmo8

No restroom, which I was worried about, but there were so many frequent stops with conveniences that it was not a problem. We had about fifty people on our bus, and only four of us were not senior citizens, so the driver and guide were very good about making sure everyone was comfortable.
