More
GPO Witness History is a brand new permanent visitor attraction located in the historical and iconic GPO building on O'Connell Street, Dublin. This highly interactive and spectacular visitor attraction focuses on the 1916 rising, the aftermath of this rebellion and also how Ireland has developed since. Experience the events from an eyewitness perspective of active participants on both sides and bystanders caught in the middle. This engaging and interactive experience brings history to life though electronic touch screens, video, audio visual booths, sound and authentic artifacts - many previously unseen. Relax afterwards in the café and browse the gift shop which overlooks the courtyard. This iconic venue is also available for private functions and events. Opens from 10am Monday-Saturday & 12pm on Sunday. Our Last Entry is 4.30PM - The centre stays open until 5.30PM.

An important part or local history. You will observe the bullet holes in the walls, and there's an interesting museum inside too.

We weren't originally going to come here, but changed our minds and glad we did. They had a film about the Easter Rising and that was really interesting.

A very moving exhibit! There is a video in a small theater that makes you feel like you were part of the Rebellion!

Having studied this in college, I thought I knew my stuff. Wrong! The exhibit is thorough, yet you can go at your own pace. I intend to go back when I next visit Ireland. Absolutely loved it!

To my shame, the 1916 uprising meant virtually nothing to me but this exhibition quickly put me right. Lots of interactive stuff, the whole thing was informative and interesting.

As a lifelong student of Irish history and culture, I have read every history of the period that I have got my hands on, seen every movie about the heroes and period, but this display was a visual and chronological feast to experience. I will...More

Okay, had everything worked this would have been a 5 star review. The 20 minute film would have been amazing, but it was shown on a 3 part screen and the middle part didn't work. So those of us viewing missed most of the action....More
