Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went on drive around Lough Eske, beautiful scenery, particularly from Harvey's Point, where we had lunch on their balcony overlooking lake... Food was delicious & staff very attentive. We met Éamonn Gillespie, who charmed all of us with his hospitality. He is so professional yet warm & authentic. We will be back to stay there.

Some nice views around the lake and in the neighboring woods and roads. You can walk up to the Castle as well and walk around the lovely grounds.

Stopped in for a drink, beautiful location and grounds.

Went to lower bar downstairs and staff members were scattered and a bit unaware of their language in front of customers. Also had a near miss that was dropped by a staff member behind the bar and no apology offered.

My 3 day and night stay at Lough Eske was truly out of this world. From the minute we arrived we literally were treated as King and Queen of the castle. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was a junior suite and it was very nice. The bathroom was amazing and spacious. We also had an area where we could relax and enjoy the amazing views. The food was scrumptious and delicious. As for the breakfast the best we had on our stay in Donegal. 💚 The scenery is amazing. You can walk for miles and take it all in or ride on one of their bikes. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for looking after us. Would highly recommend.

A little out of town, a very interesting hotel with a staff that cannot do enough. We're so happy we stayed there.
By the way, you have to ask which table in the dining room is occupied by the ghost, or they won't tell you. Come to think about it, they may not tell you whether you ask or not.

Served by Clionadh who was the cheeriest person, very smiley and very attentive. Sadly, the crockery was chipped and stained. The sandwiches were great, albeit tiny. The sweet food was ok, no great shakes for a five star hotel. Had to ask for hot water for tea on a few occasions. My advice, do your homework if you want a special afternoon tea experience. We had a fantastic time at another hotel in Derry that was no comparison to Lough Eske.

A huge thanks to Gerard for starting my car this evening when the fob stopped working.

I had a lovely day in the Lough Eske spa and had parked outside the castle. When I got to my car I couldn't even open it, never mind start it. I was on hold to the insurance company hoping to get them to come and rescue me and went into reception. Gerard came out in the drizzle, gave me a lift in the wee truck over to the car, poked about the key for a while and got the bonnet opened and had me on the road in no time. Thanks, Gerard. I got home safely but I'll be back soon. Go raibh míle maith agat.

Nice place to visit for a short trip.
There are a few roads down to the lough so important you pick the correct one or you can find yourself on tricky one lane roads.
Some walks around the lake, near Harvey's Point and if you stay at Lough Eske Castle a really nice prepared walk.
