Highly Recommend!

Paul Greene picked up our family of four from a hotel in Dublin, and took us on an amazing journey across Ireland to Donegal Town. Paul was a wonderful guide, and shared so many interesting stories and sights along the way. He helped us search for family gravestones, took us to Sliabh Liag, along with many other beautiful sights. The whole team was very helpful and friendly including a evening pickup from a local pub, and the trip back to Dublin for our flight. Thank you!!

The very best way to travel

I would give 6 stars if I could! Michael and his team were recommended by our hotel and I’m so glad we were able to go with them! So much better than trying to rent a car and drive yourself. Michael was wonderful to work with; made scheduling easy and very transparent with pricing and extremely professional- and kind. Our drivers Joe and Paul were the best! Provided safe and timely transport with so much useful and interesting information about the area. It was like being able to get a tour and enjoyable education as part of the service. We learned so much about the area. Really no better way to travel. Nicest people on the planet. And the vehicles are top notch clean comfortable and stylish. A ride with these folks will cure you of any jet lag and best way to be welcomed to Ireland

Beyond expectations in Donegal

This wasn't a tour, it was a revelation. History, geneology, folklore -- the Gallaghers are brilliant. They accommodated a few difficult requests with humor and commitment and exceeded my expectations. I'm coming back and hope to have them along.

Great service

We got a few taxis to and from our Airbnb just outside Donegal town with Gallagher cabs (recommended to us by our host) and we couldn’t fault the service, very reliable and on time, met Michael himself on Sunday evening and he was so lovely and gave us great recommendations which we really enjoyed! Would definitely recommend!

Keep the welcome spirit of Donegal alive!

Marie was absolutely the best...we were given the experience of a life time. Our time was well spent under the care of Marie...not only did she know the history but gave a personal touch filled with childhood memories and a little bit of "how things used to be". It's our responsibility now... study up and keep the Donegal interest going. Lots to learn and Marie is the best resource to keep the spirit of travel alive and well. We go to learn and to hear it from a local. Bravo!

Completely elevated our Donegal experience!]

Marie went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I experienced the best of this beautiful part of the world.
In some of the heaviest rain we have experienced, and we come from Vancouver Island, Marie stood beside us on the cliffs of Slieve League and took in the beauty with seemingly as much awe and appreciation as we did seeing for the first time.
In the comfort of their beautiful Mercedes (with heated seats) Marie took us to some of her hidden gems while she told us of the history of the area and her personal story in a part of Ireland that she clearly knows and loves.
A couple of days after our tour Marie emailed us with geneology sites that she has found to be particularly resourceful, and an offer to be of any further assistance. As I said ... above and beyond.

Gallagher Tours Ireland at its Best

A day spent touring with the private guide Marie Gallagher was the best Ireland can offer. Marie weaves facts of Irish past and present into a tapestry of information as she weaves through roads less traveled to selected sites. Don’t miss her photo rich views of cliffs and the sea as she leads you through Slieve League. Her knowledge of Irish History added depth to a walk through Glencolmcille Folk Village. Wherever we we went from Pub to countryside other guides and people knew her name. Tell everyone that Gallagher Tours is the best way to travel Donegal if you want a private guide.

Spectacular tour with hidden gems

Marie Gallagher was a fabulous tour guide for our tour of Killybegs and it’s harbor, Fintragh Bay (beautiful beach), Slieve League (where we walked and devoured fresh lobster rolls), and Donegal towne. She was easy to understand and has a charming relaxed style. She is a native of the area and shared stories of her antics as a child, stories of Irish folklore, she has a wonderful sense of humor and she is a true historian! Gallagher Cabs/Donegal Chauffeur Travel will customize your tour to fit your schedule and interests. Marie took us off the beaten path to spectacular sites, roads, and stops. She loves Irish heritage and ancestry and will go out of her way to provide something special for each journey. Outstanding!!

Like Seeing Donegal and more with a Relative

We decided not to rent a car for traveling in Donegal (we aren’t used to driving on the left) and the hotel we booked, Lough Eske Castle, recommended this service. We are so glad we contacted them. Prior to our trip, we decided to book their full day Donegal and Sligo Coastal Tour and the owners, Michael and Marie, offered to drop us in Donegal after the tour, made dinner and live music suggestions, and offered to return us to our hotel afterwards, and we did just that and had a fabulous time. The day of the tour, we met Marie who was our guide, (the car was a lovely black Mercedes stocked with water) and we felt as though we had a relative taking us to all the sights on the itinerary. She was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with and made road choices that offered great views for our photos. The following day, my husband wanted to visit a distillery over a half hour away, and I wanted us see the Slieve Liag cliffs, about another 45 minutes west, so Gallagher’s provided us with a driver, Paul, for a half day tour (at a fair hourly rate), who was a fine driver, especially along the narrow cliff roads, and also very knowledgeable. The area is spectacular, so much history was shared with us by Marie and Paul, that we hope to return and explore the other tours they offer.

Wonderful Individualized Donegal Tour with Marie

I was fortunate enough to find out about Donegal Chauffeur Travel - also known as Tours Donegal - last year and had two wonderful and informative tours with Marie. This year I returned to Donegal Town and Marie was available so we took a third tour, to Glendalough Castle, Errigal Mountain and Poison Glen. She is a wonderful host, full of knowledge about the area and Irish history and legends, and also kind and considerate of the interests of each customer. We share an interest in photography and she always goes out of her way to find unique subjects to photograph. We unfortunately didn't have the best weather that day but she was undaunted finding one great place to visit after another. I asked if we could see Lough Eske on the way home and she gladly provided a visit there as well.

A few days later I needed a taxi to take me to the bus to Galway and who should arrive but Marie's husband Michael, who is most kind and helpful as well.

A unique company, greatly recommended.
