Not best way to start a Saturday night

I love this pub but I will be avoiding it in the future. Very rude bouncer in a couple of occasions. Last time I didn’t appreciate, for sure, raising his voice to me just for asking for my table. Food is good but service is slow if you are sitting inside.

No booking but managed to get a table on crane lanes outdoor section. All of the staff were so nice and polite. The food was lovely and the cocktails went down a little too well.
All tables were thoroughly cleaned and i certainly felt safe throughout the evening. I will be back and would highly recommend

Excellent staff and food

Arrived without a booking which was no bother to the young staff who offered us a few different tables. Got a meat and cheese board because it was after 10pm. They were both very tasty and filling. Staff and security couldnt have been more friendly and efficient. Cant wait to go back

worst night ever

Had the absolute worst experience of any night out because of the bouncers here.. I was here with 2 other friends and it was a busy night. My girlfriend who was in America at the time called me on my mobile and because the place was so busy I couldn't hear her so I stepped outside so i could talk on the phone. Afterwards I tried to go back inside but the bouncer stopped me and wouldn't allow me to enter. He said I had too much to drink. My coat which cost around 80 euro was still in there and it was a cold night, yet when I pleaded with them that I was literally just inside a couple of minutes ago they weren't having any of it. They wouldn't allow me to even go back in and get it!!! I stayed there for ages arguing with them, and even suggested they walk me to it and then I'll happily leave, but these guys were on a complete power trip... I was left cold, alone and the coat was never seen again.. traumatic experience

I'm not too sure about this pub. I have been here a couple of times. They do have some good selection of beers. However it is always crowded and it's very hard to hear the other person if one visits this pub as a group.

I spent the evening here and the guys behind the bar were excellent and with their personalities and skill they really gave a Corkonian experience. I thought Graham was a great host who kept checking in even when the venue got extremely busy. A credit to the the guys who run this bar.

Absolutely disgraceful. We were about to enter the pub, but were told we are not allowed as we are drunk. We were driving over and didn't have any drink!!! Rude security try to make you upset in every way they can.

SOULLESS and Unwarrantedly RUDE

I've lived in Cork for years and I've been to this venue - or venues rather - and never have I ever encountered such unwarranted rudeness. On New Years Eve (last night) I got turned away at NINE PM for absolutely no reason other than listening to Stevie Wonder (Superstition at the moment in question) and dancing my way down the road (because how could you not dance to Stevie) - and by dancing I mean bopping a bit, I can't dance, so nothing extravagant - I took my headphones off when I approached the bouncers and my hat fell off when I pushed them back, so, you know... that was a real red flag between the hat fall and the mild dancing. I explained I had just come from the Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega (a very lovely venue) where a bartender who served me ONE Murphys and ONE very VERY good whiskey I'd never tried before - I have the receipts!!! - had suggested I head over to Crane Lane for this particular night. Nevertheless, I had "had too much drink" according to the bouncer... based on me dancing and my hat falling... I understand they need to weed out the drunks to keep people safe but I am a 31 year old woman and I was on my own on NYE and there was absolutely no reason to treat me like that. I had a FANTASTIC time at An Spailpín Fánach!
