Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

Visited with girlfriend last summer and was amazed that such a wide range of animals were down here when I used to live in Cork and never visited the place once. Very child friendly. Staff very helpful and while the park was fairly big you were never too far away from a shop, toilets or help from one of th... More

We have a membership for Fota, so we will be using it a lot. Thought the wildlife park experience was very good. Having not brought a lunch, we used the fast-food restaurant located halfway through the park, but I will not be using it again. Overly priced and very 'processed tasting' fast food. A full rethink is required over the... More

This was the highlight of our holiday. Entry fee is quite high but was well worth it for the experience if seeing animals in such a natural environment and up so close. The kids had an amazing day out, and absolutely loved the butterfly house. The cafe near the entrance didn't have much choice food wise, but the kids enjoyed... More

Got a guided tour by the head warden, Willie. My Australian inlaws are over for my Fiancé and I's engagement party, this trip to Fota was by far the highlight of their whole trip. It made their whole holiday they were absolutely buzzing leaving the park. Truely amazing work and the dedication and care the keepers show is just inspiring.... More

Amazing park, especially on a sunny day. A must see. It is pricy so I recommmend families with young children living in cork to buy the yearly pass. (Also accepted in dublin zoo).

Fota is a superb place to visit for all ages. Animals are in as natural an environment as possible.there are great learning experiences eg watching eggs incubate and develop into little chicks. Monkeys great fascinating to watch playing and feeding. All in all a day out not to be missed.

This is an amazing outdoor experience. Tots and young kids can run and play safely whilst everyone in the family gets to see some beautiful animals. There are no 'cages' as such but a monkey island and done big green spaces for the bigger animals. My kids are all teens now but they loved a day there as kids and... More
