THE QUALITY OF THE IRISH MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR THE RAIN.

This was our first trip to Ireland, so we had a long list of things to see and a complicated schedule. Robert McAuliffe of About Ireland Taxi Tours helped us design an itinerary which complied with the laws of physics and economics.

Conor Sheridan was our guide, who put our plans into execution, at the same time letting us deviate when it was necessary. Mr. Sheridan is a very intelligent man, equally comfortable discussing Irish history or the difference between an Irishman and a Scot. He started as our guide and after seven days on the road became our friend.

We found the Irish to be gentle, polite, with a great sense of humor. It is a pleasure to be among such civilized people. There are innumerable sights with historical, literary or other importance. The land is beautiful, but, as Mr. Sheridan put it, "people do not come to Ireland for the weather". I would add the quality of the Irish more than makes up for the rain.

We are very grateful to Messrs. McAuliffe and Sheridan for making possible our dream vacation to Ireland.

Fabulous Driver and Taxi Tour

About Ireland Taxi Tours made our trip so much easier and enjoyable. We booked a car for 5 days to see Cork, Dingle and Galway. It took the stress out of the trip for everyone. Our driver, Denis was extremebly knowledgeable about the area and the history of Ireland. It was nice to learn so much on our trip. He was punctual and courteous. Bob was a great communicator when booking the trip. I would highly recommend them anyone.

We did 3 tours with this company on our trip to Ireland. The first tour was from Dublin and we went on the Powercourt Garden tour, which included many lovely stops. We enjoyed our driver / guide John McGrane, as he shared stories, history, cultural information, took frequent pictures of our group in various locations, and gave us a fulsome tour experience.

The next tour was in Londonderry where we travelled to Malin’s Head. Again we had a wonderful tour: both in Derry and in the countryside. Our guide was knowledgeable and most accommodating.

Our third tour was in Cork, with Barry as our driver /guide. We went to the Blarney Stone, Kinsale and made numerous other stops, all of which deepened our understanding of Ireland. Barry has a great personality, that wonderful Irish sense of humour and a generous spirit.

We were on a cruise ship, so we had limited time in each port, but the private tours we selected provided us with the opportunity to see breathtaking scenery, visit famous landmarks and through our guides we learned about the people, the history and the sights. This company offers Cruise Ship Excursions, with port pick up and drop off, making it easy to maximize your time.

A Fantastic Experience with About Ireland Taxi Tours

If it were possible to give About Ireland Taxi tours more than a five star review, I would do so! Bob worked closely with us in advance to plan our itinerary, which was focused on specific areas that we wanted to visit in both the Republic and Northern Ireland.

Conor Sheridan was our driver for all but one of the nine days. He is fantastic. He is knowledgeable, always on time and as nice a guy as you could ever meet. Dennis subbed for Conor one day. He was also terrific.

When we return to see more of Ireland, we will work with Bob and his team again.

Having a driver in Ireland was one of the best decision

We used About Ireland Taxi Tours several times during our 8-day itinerary in Ireland. Each time the driver was punctual and extremely accommodating. Bob reminded us it was OUR day. Whether you just need a private driver (highly recommend so everyone is able to enjoy the trip), or to see out of the way places if you so desire. Also nice to have scenic routes to take in the views going from place to place. Alex was our bus driver in Dublin, also Paddy, and Damien in Galway, and we had Brendan for most of the time in Galway on tours, for a drop off/pick up to a dinner as well as back to the airport. They took group pics for us, gave us quiet time when we needed it, and answered any and all questions from the group (10 adults, family vacation)
I would highly recommend About Ireland Taxi tours. Fabulous alternative to driving yourself and competitively priced.

Fantastic - Highly Recommend

If I could give this company, Bob, its (or one of its) owner(s), and John Mc Grane, our driver, 10 stars, I would. From the minute I contacted this company through the time we were dropped off back at our hotel, everything was wonderful. Great communication from both Bob and John, a sincere interest in describing to us all of the options we had for the full day tour we wanted that would also include Kilkenny Castle, to picking us up and first taking us to a somewhat out of the way location we wanted to go to before starting our "official" tour, all was done with a smile and good humor. And our day tour was just fantastic. John was a joy to listen to and talk with and he kept my two (22 year old) daughters engaged and having fun the entire day. His knowledge of the area was tremendous (he grew up there). I would use this company again and again and strongly recommend them to anyone visiting Ireland (which we loved!). Beyond my recommendation, one other positive thing to note about this company is (and I think this is correct), Bob has been in the taxi/driving business as a driver (and possibly tour guide) for many years and I believe most or all of his drivers are people with whom he has known for many years (and many of whom also know each other) - as such the business seems to be more of a family of people all motivated to provide excellent service. And they do!!!

Thank you for the vote of confidence and the great review you are right Both John & I have been in the taxi business for over 20 years and in that time we have built up a network of friends and contacts across Ireland North and South East and West who all have a passion for Ireland and its history. When I decided to set up the company I reached out to the people I trusted, who helped me or I helped them out of a fix over the years on the roads of Ireland and yes I do run the business more like a family or a Cooperative. We all know and trust each other to do the best for our clients and the business every day. John has a passion not just for Dublin but for Ireland, he loves nothing more than to add in stops at those little places that others drive by as being not important enough to waste time on but that is exactly what makes your day special . I think that the only people who look at the time on a day tour with John or to be fair any of the drivers here are the clients ( unless its a shore excursion) and that is exactly why John is such a great driver Bob

Hit or miss, Buyer beware

We were part of a group that booked 8 different tours with AITT. One tour from each of our scheduled cruise port stops in Ireland. 4 of the tours were really good (Belfast, Dublin, Cork, and Killybegs), with a wonderful driver/tour guide (two of which Bob was our tour guide). Two were not very good (Bantry and Londonderry). They were just drivers who took us to the listed locations but no explanations (not a tour guide). The other two "tours" (Waterford and Galway) had to be cancelled due to weather and our cruise ship not being able to stop at those ports. Though the company policy (per their website) states this would be refundable (less 50% of the deposit), the owner (Bob), is not going to refund us. So buyer beware, especially if you are booking as a cruise stop excursion.

Thank you for your review I am sure that you already know that I have already been in contact with Larry who is the booked the tours in relation to the issues you have outlined and as I have already explained I can only deal with him as he was the person who booked the tours with us. On saying that to clarify the situation there is a refund being processed for the cancelled tour in Waterford. in relation to Galway the ship was in Galway bay and our driver was on the dock waiting for you from before 8.00am until the Captain announced well after 9.00am that he was not allowing passengers off the ship as the sea's were to rough for the tenders to operate safely. This falls outside of our terms and conditions for a cancellation and we treat this as a no show by the clients again I have already told Larry this Again as I informed Larry last week as a goodwill gesture that I will be refunding €50 to each person who was booked on the Galway tour. As to Bantry Larry told me that they had enjoyed the day in Bantry with John

About Ireland Taxi Tours are Fabulous! Bob is responsive when booking and offers great itinerary suggestions - not just the tour book's must sees. We used their services in Cork and Londonderry. dock. Having a local driver gives a whole different perspective on the various cities and you see the area through their eyes and experiences. We saw so many places we would not have seen without this insider knowledge.

We booked through Bob. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when booking.

Our driver, Paudie, was amazing! He was punctual, accommodating, and personable. He suggested a couple of restaurants in Killarney and they were all fantastic. We were booked with Paudie for 1.5 days and it was all great. We felt like he really figured out our interests and stopped when he thought we would like something, even if we hadn’t specifically requested to stop at that sight.

I wish we would have booked Paudie for the whole time we were in Ireland!

Hi Shayla sometimes its easy to but the right driver with the client Paudie enjoys nothing more than to show people Killarney and Kerry be it a day tour of the Ring of Kerry or the Dingle peninsula as long as at the end of the day everyone is smiling leaving the bus He's happy
