Excellent theater with great seats everywhere
Excellent small theater with great service and fun gathering areas outside the theater. All the seats looked like good ones. We saw Samuel Beckett's Happy Days - what a performance!! Parking was easy - garage right nearby.

Seeing the children in the audiance enjoying them selves and loving what was going on stage, was great too.

    Standing ovation
Fantastic panto. Best I’ve seen: all the actors were outstanding . Frank was fantastic yet again. The set was out of this world . The jokes cracked me up , the music , dancing etc were all amazing . Ten out of ten for the show but …………. ……. please stop selling those plastic light up wands. For the second half I had a Young child in front of me waving one. They’re tack and headwrecking and really can take from the experience . No need at all for them.

Went to improv panto with my buddies as our Xmas night out.... bar was 20 deep it started late and I couldn't hear them properly and I just didn't find it funny. I was ready for sore jaw after laughing at say aTommy Tiernan show but we left after 15 mins .. I was bored and wasted time and money.

We went to see Ben Portsmouth's Elvis Tribute at Cork 'Opera' House- nostalgic title, no doubt! (It's a theatre) .Waiting for a drink at the main foyers' bar area is not too pleasant, too darn bright, if you're conscious about yourself, forget it- your cover is blown!! Feels like waiting for the next plane arrival, or, towards the glass front, to play bingo!! Bar service was fine, decor is fine.. seating is appalling ill-equipped.. we were left standing till the sofa became available. The theatre itself has a cosy feel, but the seating is uncomfortable, and we had to get up at least seven times to allow people to get to the bathroom etc.- in this day and age, shocking. The sound from the band etc. was pretty good, although we were at the very back of the balcony and certainly needed extra speakers there, we found it difficult to hear Ben Portsmouth's incessant attempt of the Cork accent! The single most uncomfortable point by far was the heat, it must have been 28C with all that body heat in one cramped/cosy theatre, they never seemed to engage the air-conditioning- no fans, no windows, not even the cool breeze of a door- simply not good enough- that kind of heat could cause someone with health trouble to potentially have serious issues, and makes for an otherwise fairly enjoyable experience.

All in all, Cork simply needs that new entertainment centre built.. Cork 'Opera' House can serve as a second fiddle- it's a basic enough theatre and Cork deserves and needs more, plus, terrible foresight back in the day, building this theatre right next to a very busy road, and the building itself is still a monstrosity in terms of architecture- with the glass box constructions of this graceless age, I don't see that improving!!

Apologies for being factual and forthright, but, it's better hearing it from a Corkonian of 45 years rather than our European neighbours.

I think for a big city the opera house could be more extravagant, also no proper seating in bar area, really a bit disrespectful to people visiting your county.

The Opera Gal performance in this wonderful building, was superb, from the presentation by Evelyn Grant to the beautifuly performed music score by the Concert Orchestra conducted by Sinad Hayes, to the magical voices of Emma Nash, Rachel Croash Gavin Ring and Rory Musgrave, from Mozart to Bizet, this was a memorable evening indeed.
Thanks to the Arts Council Ireland, MTU School of music, and indeed the legacy of Cara O Sullivan for putting on this production,Next time you are visiting this busy happy friendly city , please if there is any productions on, go, as from Pantomime to Opera, they are always first class! So Enjoyable, atmosphere voices, gowns , decent bar, all added up to another memorable time spent there. Thank you. E Cole,

Cork Opera house rescheduled my Original booking date for 5 Persons / tickets to a different date. I disagreed and requested a full refund which is my right. I was eventually refunded ticket price (not including booking fee). The Original booking was not cancelled or changed by me but for some reason I have to forego the booking fee which is nonsense.
Poor Customer Service and understanding of Consumer rights.
I will not be dealing with them again.

5 of us attended Peter Pan - Pantomime- and it was wonderful. The leading entertainers, chorus and young children - dancers- were outstanding. I have to single out one artiste for special mention - Smee- who was an outstanding entertainer. At the finale, he had the whole audience - adults and children- on our feet dancing, arms in the air etc. We were in the back row - in the balcony- and could see everything perfectly in this beautiful theatre. Thank you Smee and cast for a wonderful pantomime.

Another fabulous evening at the Panto. Though it was sold out , the management of people entering and leaving was super efficient . The Panto itself , Peter Pan was outstanding and appeals to both young and old. An absolutely brilliant evening
