Interesting way to spend an hour or so

A very interesting look into the history of the gaol. The audio tour is very well done and introduces you to many of the inmates which really brings it to life.

Great activity, very vivid presentation of what life there looked like. Great for all ages, even families with children. Helps you to really realize you have a lot to be grateful for.

We really enjoyed our visit for Halloween. There was so much going on for kids - the face painter was excellent, the balloon guy was great and the jester was so funny. The black cat treasure hunt was great fun and kept the kids occupied for ages. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the displays are fascinating. We... More

A very well done attraction. Lots of history. They provide you a booklet that takes you on a tour of the jail - it gives little stories and bits of info - super interesting! It is a beautiful and creepy place. Well worth a trip!

They added a special twist to the gaol by putting manikins in the calls portraying the past. Well worth a visit.

So much more than meets the eye at the gatehouse! Purchase the audio guide for €2 more for the full experience. Informative, interesting and a beautiful building part of Ireland's history.
