Good day out

Good day out, my 10 year old enjoyed it. Worth a visit if you are in Cork. My 10 year old found the film part boring at the end so maybe that could be revamped.

This was a really good experience. You get to see the old prison cells and there is some information and stories on some of the people who were in prisoned here in years gone by.Its a short tour.We were for about an hour and that was enough time to see everything and walk the grounds.

Interesting and enlightening experience with regard to Irish history, greatly assisted by an audio guide. A camera would be useful as there is no official pictorial guide / souvenir brochure available.

I always love to come and visit the Cork jail. It's within easy reach of the city, is great for a wander around and gets you our of the rain. I particularly enjoy the final performance area in the round that summarises some of the lives of those who spent time in the jail.

Was here on a rainy Day, and must say, was the best Idea. Missing a nice restaurant, so you can make it to an Place to get more often. Spooky Plastic Figures show the Pain of the Jail from this Century

We walked from the river to the Gaol. It was a beautiful day outside, around 14 degrees Celsius, the sky was clear, perfect for some shots of the outside of the Gaol (you pronounce Jail). The tour is self guided (I prefer that way!) they will give you a map with the blurb of the cells and spaces you can... More

Great day out with the family here, the kids really liked it, entrance fee was good value and the audio visual experience at the end was thoroughly enjoyable. We really enjoyed passing our Lazy Sunday afternoon here

We visited here as a family of four with two children aged 4 & 5 and they loved it, totally amazed with everything they even tried to check out the back for secret tunnels!

We visited this historic and haunting building many years ago and revisited recently with our teens. The tour is now an audio one and we missed the life that a real guide breathes into the story of a building. However, it's well documented and enjoyable. Bring warm clothes if visiting in Winter - this prison is cold!

I found the city gaol very nice and informative. I only found it because I was lost in Cork, The building looked interesting so I decided to check it out. I bought tickets without really knowing what it is. I was surprised in a positive way. Pro : - very realistic wax people. They seemed so real, i was afraid... More
