It took some time to walk to the Gaol from the city center. The weather wasn't particularly nice with drizzles. The roads are uphill so it's actually pretty tiring to walk there. The building itself is okay nice - very historical but I think the museum is a bit empty in terms of its content. Not many impressive historical stories... More

Have to say that I really enjoyed my tour of this facility. I have lived around The area my whole life and never knew this even offered a voice guided tour. The tour was great and really showed how people were treated years ago.

By buying the headphones, you are directed on a tour around the gaol with many informative stops telling interesting facts about the history, former residents and governor of the gaol. Without the headphones you would miss a great deal of the information that makes the tour, the time and the entrance fee worthwhile. There is also a radio museum and... More

The entrance alone was grand, leading up to the front gate of the prison. We payed for the audio tour, because from past experience, you tend to rush around quickly, and don't really take in the information. The guide was easy to use, just press the button, listen, then move on. Even for my wife, who finds these places a... More

This relic from the past is in a good state of preservation, and simply viewing and being inside this impressive structure gives an insight into its history. It is well interpreted, and visitors have a choice of taking a written guide or paying a small amount extra for an audio version. It's a good place to spend a couple of... More

The place is nicely restored and is enjoyable to visit. But it's pretty empty in content, there is not much to see. I think the price is a little high for what you get. I still don't regret going

A fascinating place to visit and to see what life was like for the inmates years ago. Have the audio to give you a better insight to the gaol.

As an avid reader I was amazed to be standing in a cell occurred by Frank O'Connor! Interesting place to wander through and it also houses the radio museum.

As part of our work christmas party we decided we wanted to something rather than the usual drinks and dinner. We had heard good things about gaol quest. We contacted the manager Sarah. After that nothing was too much trouble. The tour was very good and very informative and lots of laughs. We then started our quest We had 13... More
