Definitely worth a visit!
Such a gem in Cork city. Very user-friendly self guided tour complete with simple but excellent presentation.
Spotlessly clean. Brilliantly conserved and a credit to the owners. 10/10 !!

The jail made you feel as though you were there at the time, the children’s quiz was great and then after you finished the jail you could look around the gardens and other buildings such as the hospital and kitchen. If anyone does go it is well worth the visit.

Pretty Decent

Cork city Gaol is a good place to spend an hour. It has a lot of history and the dolls were cool. I enjoyed that the staff lets you fully explore the place on your own without interruptIng and ruining experience. The only part that I disliked was that they put some lame polls in middle of cells to prevent you from taking good pictures and getting close to manekens. That also ruins the immersion since it wasn't there in real life scenario in Gaol.

Well Worth Visiting

Cork doesn’t have too many visiting attractions so this is a must see. We chose the interactive audio self tour, this really brings the prisoner stories to life. The Gaol grounds are also worth spending some time in. Would recommend highly.

Well worth a visit
Aug 2020
The number of tourist attractions and things to do in Cork is a bit limited particularly, in a time when all the wet pubs are closed due Covid. However, the old Cork City gaol is well worth a visit. Very informative visuals and audio visuals to help you get a feel for what it was like when it was a functioning gaol.
