We had a good time, with an excellent guide (Antony). However the trip was advertised as a "small group trip" with a maximum of 16 people, and it was actually 2 trips combined, with 20 people. (We would not have booked a trip with 20 people). The bus was quite noisy and not well ventilated. No Covid precaustions were taken at all (no vaccination requirement, masks optional - but worn by only a few other people on the bus). There is quite a lot of free time included, including one full day in Killarney, and a day on the island of Inishmore. Accomodations were quite good, though more like small hotels than bed and breakfasts. Breakfasts are the only meals included in the trip price. The itinerary was very good and enabled us to see and enjoy the country. This trip is a pretty good value, (if you're not worried about Covid).

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of wild Ireland. We would definitely recommend this company. We upgraded to B&B’s for our nightly accommodations and were very pleased with them. This can be a very active tour, if you do desire. Many opportunities for long and short hikes. Our guide Sean was fantastic. Shared many facts about Ireland and many times had the whole laughing. We would definitely travel with Irish Experience Tours again. Ireland and it’s people are beautiful!

Wow, where to begin? The rating would have been a 5, but our expectations were incorrect because of Tour Radar. Sean is a great tour guide and very easy to work with, but I would recommend reaching out to Irish Experience Tours in advance of the trip to ensure you are aware of all the hotel options and available upgrades the third-party sites don't mention and mis-advertise. We booked through Tour Radar and the way they displayed the hotel information was very misleading and lead to some disappointment. The trip itself was AMAZING with all the things to see and do, however, you ARE on a bus getting from place to place a lot, so be prepared to be seat belted into vehicle for a couple hours a day. If you choose the 13-day tour, you will start with the others on the 13-day trip and then join up with the 10-day and 7-day tour groups as space in the busses permit. Sean was slammed during our visit time with travelers on the first travel wave after U.S. COVID-travel restrictions were lifted. There were several groups running concurrently but Sean juggled everything nicely. Our initial tour guide was nice and knowledgeable, but Sean easily has the most personality in the company and made the most impact. Try to book as many day as possible with Sean. The tour includes many, many sights and stops and each day is an adventure. Be prepared for some hikes and remember to stretch each morning. We were there in June 2022 and we got all types of weather from very sunny to very wet, but the daytime temperatures were mostly between 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit and some days were very windy. Pack accordingly and pack as light as you can - you will be hauling you luggage on and off the bus a lot. The pace is nice and is designed for active travelers more so than couch potatoes; so hit the cardio at the gym for a month or two before going to get your legs and knees ready. After 13-days everyone was a bit worn out, but there are a few spa opportunities available on free days if you plan ahead based on the itinerary (some nearby hotels and stand-alone spas exist which Sean is not affiliated with) and it is best to book directly with the establishments. A daily breakfast was provided as part of the tour and out-of-pocket lunch stops were fun but varied with where in the country you were that day - some areas are more remote than others. Dinners were on-your-own after nightly check-in with that night's accommodations and we often ate with other tour group members. We enjoyed sampling the local specialties and music as we went from town to town. There were plenty of shopping opportunities and I recommend having purchases shipped home from the shop for any bulky or heavy items as your luggage gets heavier and heavier as the tour goes on. We ended up buying an extra piece of luggage and having to check it for the flights home (we arrived with only carry-on) in addition to having items shipped. Highlights for us were Inis Mor, Kylemore Abby, Muckross Friary (Killarney National Park in general), Westport House, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Londonderry tour. To be honest, this tour contained so much and was so long that things became a bit of a blur towards the end. The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge had been "health-and-safety-ed" recently into a picturesque, but harmless, stop by the Northern Ireland government, so don't expert any Indiana Jones type bridge. It was beautiful shoreline and country though, so worth a visit if you are not expecting thrills. As a tour company, Irish Experience Tours was easy to deal with and accommodating after the misunderstanding regarding housing options was discussed. There are multiple options for most stops each night at different price points, but Tour Radar only showed the top-tier option as if the package price included that option. NOT TRUE! The Irish Experience Tours website that Tour Radar copied clearly shows the nightly options as possible upgrades; Tour Radar shows only one place (the first). Please be aware and check with or book directly with Irish Experience Tours to avoid any disappointments. (The airports were complete chaos when we traveled, so be prepared. Our trip home was a 25-hour ordeal.)
