My daughters gave me the most wonderful birthday present ever of a voucher for Atlantic Flight Training Academy, last November.
I used the voucher last week and had a truly unique experience, flying with Sean down the coast of West Cork as far as Glandore Harbour.
Pilot Sean was marvellous, full of information and seemed to take as much delight in the trip as I did. Thanks Sean!
If my girls are reading this, just a hint to say this is the kind of present that I wouldn’t mind receiving twice!

Highly recommend this as a wonderful way to see the landscape and the coastline, we took the coastal route around Inchodoney and Old Head. We really enjoyed the flight and Dan our pilot was fantastic, he had great knowledge and great craic thrown for good measure. Well worth your hard earned cash. Great idea as a gift for someone

What an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived the children were made to feel so special and put at ease. Joules the elf was amazing with them and made it an experience they will never forget. Seeing their house from Santa’s plane was just amazing. I can not say enough about the experience and can’t wait to do it again next year.

What a thrill, I loved my flying lesson today. The views, the thrill of actually flying the plane for a while WOW.
I even flew over my house and got a photo. The Pilot was so engaging and made it such a fun experience.
This is the ideal gift for anybody.
I want to go again.

We went on the, Elf force one experience. This was an amazing experience, we were flexible with our dates so our Elf kindly contacted us to advise us on the best day to fly.
I would highly recommend this 5 stars all the way.

Went for a flying lesson in May 2024. Oh what a brilliant experience. Went from cork airport. Sean was my pilot. He was a gentleman and very professional . Excellent service through out. Would recommend everybody to do it. Thanks again guys. I will definitely do it again soon.

Having heard about the Christmas Elf Force One experience on the radio, we knew it was the perfect thing to do for our 10 year old who is plane obsessed. We decided to purchase the voucher and contact AFTA to book the trip. We initially picked a Sunday, it was really easy to ring and book our flight.
Unfortunately the weather was not suitable for our first flight, but the staff at AFTA made sure to stay in contact with us and we rescheduled for the next week. They then contacted me on the Monday to say the weather was not favourable for the following Sunday, but the weather looked good for Thursday. We decided to go on the Thursday and wow were we glad we did!
We arrived to the centre, and had managed to keep the flight a surprise up to this point. We went inside and were greeted by Elf Joules, in full Elf outfit and bursting with enthusiasm. He interacted so well with our son. We sat down and he explained what the plan was, including flights over our house and some family members houses (Information cleverly provided in a text conversation the day before), as well as our recon mission to figure out who was naughty and nice in Cork and spy out some landing spots for Santa. We were given high visibility vests and Elf Joules led us to the airside gate, instructing our son to look out for the special Red Nose airplane.
A race ensued to the plane, which was just so much fun. Elf Joules helped us to get seated and geared up with headphones and mics, and we were in the plane ready to go. He explained the processes of what he was doing and we could hear his communication with Traffic Control which was all really interesting, We could chat with each other and even had Christmas music playing throughout the flight!
After flight checks, which our son was able to assist with, we were off. We took off and headed south over Carrigaline and Crosshaven. The views were amazing and the plane was so much more stable then expected. We flew over Spike Island and Haulbowline and around Cork harbour including Fota Wildlife Park, all the while Elf Joules was explaining what we were looking at and giving some fun tasks like how many Navy ships could we spot? We spotted some animals in Fota, then we had to hold over Dunkettle and Glanmire for a few minutes allowing us to take in some views.
We then flew over the City towards Ballincollig and Ovens to see some family members houses, before turning around and flying over Bishopstown and Wilton where our son goes to school and finally returning to the airport, flying over our own house on approach. The flight and landing were so smooth and gentle, a testament to the skill of Elf Joules. We arrived back at the flight club and disembarked the plane, headed back inside and our son was presented with a gift from Elf Joules which he was delighted with.
The flight experience was amazing and I cant thank all the AFTA staff for the work put in to making it so magical, but especially Elf Joules who looked after us so well and truly kept the magic alive throughout.
As an added bonus, we were particularly impressed when a post card arrived through the door a few days before Christmas from Elf Joules and AFTA, this was very special. I would highly recommend any of the packages AFTA provide, but especially the Elf Force One flight if you have children, it was truly magical.

A DEFINITE FOR THE BUCKET LIST!!!
I was gifted a flying lesson for my birthday and honestly can not describe was one of the best experiences of my life.I had a fantastic time with Chris (Co pilot 🤣). We fly west of Cork down to inchydoney views incredible. Can’t thank everyone at the AFTA enough for a truly memorable day.
