- Gina J49 contributionsAuthentic Irish pubA very authentic Irish pub- when we went it was the night before Easter so it was packed. Live music was great- not too loud/ overwhelming. Limited seating but people were willing to share their tables with you, creating a fun environment. Would definitely recommend.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 2 April 2024
- Laura FDurham, North Carolina7 contributionsAmazing atmosphere with traditional musicWe visited on a busy Saturday night while traveling. The cozy pub was packed with patrons seeking a break from the rain. The music was spectacular - heartfelt ballads and upbeat tunes. Our pints were great and reasonably priced. Our evening in Sin E was a highlight of our 10 day visit to Ireland.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 May 2024
- Julia @Scrumptious SolentSouthampton, United Kingdom4,381 contributionsGreat live music in an authentic Irish settingWe loved the live music in this pub. Unlike the pubs we visited in Dublin this feels much more authentic - and is much more reasonably priced. The interior is an eclectic mix of ‘stuff’ stuck on the wall everywhere. But it’s fun and the craic is great! Live music starts at 6:30 til around 9:30 - then a second group of musicians takes over after a short 30 minute break. Get there early to grab a seat! Beer is reasonably priced at around £5 a pint for Beamish.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024
- FelixEssex, United Kingdom543 contributionsTrad music funWe really enjoyed our Sine É experience. It’s a tiny pub where traditional Irish music can be heard. This is not hard to find anywhere in Ireland however, but this pub had been recommended. There were two groups playing the evening we were there and both were good. There was also a guy doing improvised Irish dancing which we enjoyed. We then found out he was from Michigan and had no clue what he was doing. No wonder the group did not acknowledge him even though he was desperate for attention.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 June 2024
- Grace C2 contributionsRude musicianReally lovely bar, lovely staff. Unfortunately there was a very verbally aggressive musician who didn't like that we were sitting next to him and was extremely aggressive towards myself a d my friends. I think he was Canadian or American and told us to get out when we responded to his complaints. Would def go back again for the lovely pints as long as he wasn't thereVisited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 25 June 2024
- BRIAN GLiverpool, United Kingdom144 contributionsI wish I could have stayed longer.Just a quick visit at the end of my trip to Cork. A small and cosy pub with people from all over the world enjoying the traditional Irish music from a group of musicians in the corner. Unfortunately, could only stay for one drink, as we needed to head to the airport for our flight home. I'll definitely return though if ever in Cork again!Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 July 2024

This was such a cool pub. The music was great, the crowd was fun. Our experience here really made it feel like life was back to normal. The musicians were on point and a pleasure to listen to. The beer was perfect and the whole building you could spend days there and never see something new on the walls each time. Overall it was great, and the perfect Irish experience.

This was a fun pub. They had live music in the evening and it amazes me how talented these musicians were. It’s a cozy spot and has kitschy decor, which is everything we were looking for in a pub.
It was close to our hotel too, which I really appreciated since it was cold and rainy that evening, so we needed a fun (dry) place to be. It has bar seating as well as a few tables (no upstairs area). Credit cards accepted.

Went out with guest from the US tonight. We wanted to show them a place with trad music so logic choice. All ok. Good sized group 10+. No issues, Bought a few rounds. So I go up to get the last round. I order a few drinks and a coke. I was standing next to my colleague as I needed help carry back the drinks. So the drinks come and it looks like the Coke is a Corrs Light. I say sorry I ordered a Coke and not a Corrs. She goes off on me that she asked me 3 times. Ok so let's give her the benefit of the benefit of the doubt as she ain't the one who is drinking here. I ask can I have a coke as that's what I need. I ask my colleague who is from the US and he is just as confused as me as he says I never saw her ask multiple times. OK again lets forget about that go as clearly he can't be trusted also as he is after a beer or two. So I ask for a Coke as I had already paid. She goes 3.80 for it so I tap again. So I leave the Corrs at the bar because I don't have enough hands but I go back as I paid for it and it has disappeared. She had taken it under the bar. Sorry now but you are taking the piss. I give the beer to someone as it's paid for. When a large group goes in somewhere and something is heard in error I have never seen a situation where someone is force to pay for something. She is poor, probably annoyed with he job but wow getting someone to pay for a misheard drink and then take it back when the customer had paid for it. It's a new one on me and I have never seen such a thing. It's a bar, mistakes happen, wastage happens. If someone things that they are going to go through a day without a single miscommunication is a noisy bar then there is something wrong. Will never be going back.

Daughter brought our family of 4 here for traditional music. Took the train from Cobh and had our other 17 yr old with us. They informed us that we had to leave by 19:00 which was fine since we needed to leave by then anyway. Ordered drinks for wife, 20 yr old daughter and myself, returned to the bar to order another pint for myself (I’m 61) and was told I was too “wobbly” by the bartender. That has never happened to me anywhere!
Embarrassing, and uncalled for. Pretty much ruined our visit to an otherwise nice pub. Won’t return

Cracking traditional Irish pub with a great pint of Guinness. The feel and style of the place was warm and inviting with lots of old memorabilia everywhere which added to its charm. The only negative was the non engaging and not very friendly barmaid that clearly lacked people skills. Would come back in the hope of a friendlier staff member.

We stopped here on our first night in Cork as it was on our must visit list. Crowded at the door entrance and right by the steps where the musicians sit, but you have a large seating area upstairs where we comfortably soaked up the atmosphere and enjoyed our drinks. Lovely place.

Hi, have an unusual situation - my lifelong ambition to go to a traditional Irish pub with music and this one sounds good but my husband has a brain injury and is very sensitive to multiple peripheral noises which doesn't bode well. Would there be any quiet area he could sit in or if not, do you think the pub would be suitable for a mature woman to visit for a drink and enjoy the music on her own?
Written 15 July 2024
Unfortunately I don't think it would be suitable for your husband as this pub is very small and gets crowded. I don't think there would be a quiet area for him. As regards visiting on your own, there would be no problems at all
