We spent a week in beautiful Ireland with John. He gave us a “locals” look at his amazing country. Always on time, clean and comfortable vehicle stocked with lots of snacks, and ready and willing to do whatever we needed at anytime.
From airport pickup he drove us to Ashford Castle and our adventure began. We gave him the highlights that we would like to see and he filled in from there. He did not disappoint with his suggestions of local pubs and restaurants, golf courses, and other do not miss places that were not on our radar such as the Skellig Ring, Skellig Michael and St Finians Bay which turned out to be where John grew up.
With John’s local insight we were able to experience this beautiful country in a very special way. We left looking forward to our return. We highly recommend John, your trip will be unforgettable.

We know this is going to sound like a travel advertisement, but it is written from our hearts. We had the best trip ever (and we have had some great trips) and we attribute it to having John O’Connell of Cork Luxury Tours as our guide.
If you're planning a trip to Ireland, say goodbye to boring tours and forget about navigating unfamiliar roads. Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey with John.
We spent 12 days of pure bliss, starting in Dublin and winding along the stunning southern coast, before culminating in the vibrant city of Galway. John ensured every moment was filled with laughter, knowledge, a sense of pure adventure and plenty of eye candy!
We were taken to hidden gems and secret spots that only a true local would know. John's expertise and passion for his homeland were unparalleled. From the rich history to the breathtaking landscapes, he guided us through it all, revealing fascinating stories and captivating anecdotes along the way. It was a pleasure to tour through Ireland with the help and insights of John O’Connell! His easy, welcoming demeanor made each day relaxing and comfortable. He helped us create an itinerary that made the best use of our limited time, suggesting sites that were off the beaten path. Some of them were our favorite spots! And it was nice to find places that were less crowded with tourists. We appreciated that John shared his knowledge of the history of many sites we visited - and the lessons in Irish language too. Our party of four had plenty of room in the large comfortable vehicle. We would highly recommend Cork Luxury Tours and John O’Connell for your Ireland visit!

We spent 5 days with John on a golf trip. He was professional, personable, and very delightful to be with. John not only made sure we got from point A to B, but he also provided rich information along the ride to each destination and the the history of areas we traveled through. I would highly recommend John.

I just returned from my first visit to Ireland where I used the services of Cork Luxury Travel to design a customized tour of the southwest coast- the Dingle Peninsula, the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry and the Skellig Ring and into Kenmare and the Killarney National Park. It was magnificent! There were 3 of us traveling and we basically wanted a knowledgeable driver & a local tour guide that could show us the best of the area from their perspective and provide local history and color. John worked closely with me for several months leading up to the trip to tailor our journey exactly to our needs. He was kind, patient, flexible and extremely accommodating, as I changed my mind several times over the course of the planning period and he came up with numerous itineraries for us. We weren’t looking for a canned tour; we wanted a customized experience and got exactly that. The price was reasonable as well- fair and worth it. Our trip was wonderful and both of the guides were excellent, knew the area well and provided the local history and stories we were seeking. The cars were big, roomy and very comfortable. I couldn’t have been more pleased or delighted and would not hesitant to use John’s excellent services again when I return to Ireland - which I surely shall. Thank you John for a wonderful trip!

Whenever anyone asks me how my trip to Ireland was, I reply, “I would never go to Ireland without having John O’Connell as my driver!” John was a delightful Irishman, who not only knew the surroundings, but also Ireland’s interesting history. John would arrive at our hotels each morning with a cheery hello and a desire to make our day as pleasant as possible. The four of us rode very comfortably in his meticulously clean luxury van. John navigated the one-lane roads like a professional and we were all so grateful that he was driving and we weren’t! John was respectful to my physical disability and also respected all of our needs to banter or take a nap. After five days of being with John, we hated parting ways because he had become one of our group. I strongly recommend John to anyone who wants to have the best experience in Ireland. Now if I could only get John to move to the States?!!!

we only spent a few days with John but, he really provided us with great service and a friendly experience. He was able to show us those spots not contained on any tourist guides such as the 911 memorial near Kinsale. If you ever have a choice to either hire a private driver or rent a car, then I recommend sitting back and letting Cork Luxury Travel handle the load. First Rate Service.

Exceeded any expectations we had for a private tour experience! John is an exceptional guide, driver, and all around person. In terms of driving, John is remarkably patient in the challenging narrow drives in some parts of Ireland. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to see and John took that to the next level. So many places I had no idea existed - especially the little Kerry Bog village where my trip was fully realized by seeing (petting, smooching, hugging) a few Irish Wolfhounds. John was an absolute delight to spend our days with and we were so sad to bid him goodbye.

I can’t say enough about John from Cork Luxury Travel & his all he has to offer!
He was far more than just an excellent driver (which is critical on many of Ireland’s narrow, windy roads), he’s a wealth of information, appears to know all the right people along the way & is, obviously, highly thought of by everyone we encountered. He’s also a master at managing to find parking no matter how scarce. : )
We also enjoyed his personal company immensely & were genuinely sad to say goodbye having spent 3 wonderful days with him.
Highly recommended John! He was truly the difference between a good trip and a really great one!!

We have the best of memories with our travels with John for 4 days this past August 23 thru August 26! From the first meeting at Castlemartyr resort where our son was married, John was welcoming and charming so we knew right away we were in good hands for our touring onward up the West Coast to Killarney and Galway. His knowledge of history and the Irish countryside was an added bonus as we drove through small villages touring the countryside and driving the epic Ring of Kerry. Hearing about his roots growing up on a farm in the glen and actually seeing it were another added delight! John was so accommodating to my wanting to take pictures of the beautiful countryside and would pull over at vistas wherever he thought I'd capture a great picture, including ones with sheep! All in all, we felt it was the most rewarding and fulfilling experience for our first visit to Ireland. We couldn't imagine driving to these destinations without an experienced Irish driver and thank our son David who sought him out and reserved our time with him.
