Next we will see the on-site brewery and discuss how the beer is made, followed by a tasting of our popular Chieftain IPA and Shandon Stout alongside the new Jameson Caskmates IPA and Caskmates Stout.

Nice brewery spot - no parking

Visiting the bar is great, but your biggest struggle may be finding a parking spot. It is street parking nearby, so your likely be a few streets away.
The beer was great and very reasonably priced. There is an indoor and outdoor space so there is plenty of room if you have a group. They have a brick oven pizza station on their patio which usually has a daily special.

Cozy and Inviting after a long day of travel

This was our first evening in Cork. We met up with our son who was studying at the University of Cork for the semester (we live in Oregon, USA) The warm atmosphere and good food and beers were a perfect start to our trip.

Popped in for a drink on a Monday night and there was a good crowd and atmosphere and some trad music being played. Staff friendly. Did not have any pizza but there did seem to be a great demand for it!

Great Pizza, awesome atmosphere

After a very long, rainy day, we ended up here as our last stop, before heading back to our B and B.
As always the Irish hospitality is wonderful!
The pizza was outstanding, the drinks were great. They had live music starting as we were leaving. Really worth the visit.
We also enjoyed the beer and whiskey pairing, it was interesting to taste, and definitely warmed you from the outside in. :)

Our visit to Fransciscan Well was just what we needed. After a dreary, rainy day this spot rescued the day. Located just north of the river and slightly west of North Main street it is outside of the tourist zone. There is seating inside but it has a large beer garden also. They provide blankets if it's a bit cool but today was fine. They only serve pizza but they do have a wide selection. Ordering is easy. Find your table. Make your food choices at the counter in the beer garden (pizza stoves visible) and they give you a buzzer to alert you when your pizza is ready. While you wait you re-enter the enclosed part to get your beer and drinks. Couldn't be easier. We we're very happy with the quality of both the pizza and the microbrews. Very reasonably priced pizzas at 11-13 euros and 5,50 pints. Great atmosphere, great pizza, great beer. You should be here.

Excellent pub let down by staff

I'd really love for this to be a 5 star review but my experience has been consistent every time I'm here. The bar is great with decent seating and an excellent outside area. The tap selection is dynamic and there is always something new to try every time I'm here. The pizza (Even thoigh it's Pompeii pizza not Fran Well) is absolutely excellent. Live music every weekend on top of all that (Brewhouse Jazz!). However certain members of staff (Mostly just one guy in particular) have a chip on their shoulder every time I'm there and just look sour about needing to serve people their drinks. Thankfully Tom (Curly hair ginger fella) is always friendly, happy and accommodating to make up for it. I still recommend this place constantly despite that.

Beer and pizza well worth a visit 👍🏽

Their beer is delicious. Rebel red is my favourite! A small inside seating area, with a band sometimes playing. Outside area makes for a nice friendly atmosphere. The stone baked pizza made outside is brilliant quality and very tasty.
