Unique bar that has a great atmosphere and staff that make customers feel welcome. Although small, it is very cosy and intimate.

It was great to see the Hi-B open again, great atmosphere and the bar staff were so friendly.It was also great to see the No mobile phone rule in place.

Upon entering this pub, I got an immediate vibe that I wasn't welcome, I was on the receiving end of a packed room of questioning stares. In the next moment, two very elderly and pretty smelly fellows began chatting with me. I was surprised they very adversarial in their remarks and it was very clear I wasn't welcome. I left immediately. I found a great pub around the corner, "The Poor Relation." I was chatting with a local and mentioned my experience earlier that evening. She said that pub is very "cliquey," so really just the approved group is welcome there. After reading the other 1 star reviews, I feel fortunate it wasn't worse. So let me save you a cringe-worthy experience: DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE.

A very nice place to hang around in Cork It has its own Spirit, very old. And very authentic you could feel the real Irish Traditional lifestyle in this place

You can’t say you’ve been to Cork City unless you’ve made it to the true heart of Cark.. The Hi Bi Bar.

I have been a hi be customer for the last 20 yrs we might not be regular but consistent. Old friends and regular have past away but their memory has lived on.... until tonight a barman full of his own self importance decided to provide the entertainment whether we wanted or not... peoolewereht allowed have a conversation as we were forced to listen to this gobshite, avoid at all costs..

I highly recommend you come here relax and enjoy the atmosphere, people, the show , music is absolutely priceless.
You will meet some very interesting people the love ♥️ they have for HI B is real ‼️it’s truly a classic‼️

John at John Cronin's recommended the Hi-B to meet the locals. We had a good conversation and enjoyed good beer. It's small, but quaint. Enjoed immensely.
