Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Normally don't review Bars.
Went here recently as my daughter lives nearby.
Staff are probably the rudest staff I encountered anywhere,
Place was grimey.
Toilets were a health hazard.
Worst bar ive ever been to.
An embarrassment to Cork.

Horrible manageress , very rude to people and unprofessional. It was a lovely local pub which I frequented regularly, I did report issue to one of the owners and they did not take seriously, other people I know have had same experience of this staff member. Other staff members are lovely,

Last Tuesday while leaving the beer garden, a heavily drunk guy smacked me on my ass. When confronted him, the owner (I think?) approached the table to ask what happened. He kept on asking the guy “if it happened” threatening him with looking at the cameras. The friend of this guy started calling me “the Spanish” (I’m Italian) while telling the owner that I didn’t know what I was talking about. The owner didn’t take any type of action other than telling them to “finish up the drinks and leave”, with all the calm in the world. When I left the pub, frustrated by the fact that they didn’t believed me and the owner allowed harassment and racism in his pub, the guy who assaulted me and his friend were still in. It is unacceptable that the staff tolerated and almost encouraged this type of behaviour without facing any real consequences . I will definitely not come back anymore and I will be sure to let people know what kind of place this is.

Had a brilliant night in this pub. Amazing trad music I was entertained all night long. The gin collection was so impressive. I will 100% be returning next time I’m in cork.

Recently attended the Beatlebums and Mary Coughlans on two separate occasions. The venue is intimate whether seated of standing and door is well managed. Staff excellent, just a great venue with class acts.

We went here and a bar man with a ginger beard gave me a lollipop. Then he gave me a delicious drink and then I got more lollipops for my auntie beef to look after. I had a go on the stage and did some dancing. The bar man also let me ring the bell before I left. This was a really good pub. I nearly gave it 4 stars because there was no slide but the bar man made up for this as the lollipops were second to none. Arya

Has to be the best bar in cork. Good location, great staff (especially pat) and the gin and whiskey selection is second to none. Music is always great here. Highly recommend

Took a foreign work colleague here who lives whiskey. We heard live music, warmed ourselves by the open fire and had 12 & 15 year old redbreast. Great bar great staff and for me one of the top bars in Cork city.
