The Blarney Stone is situated at the top of the castle. You have to climb narrow winding stone stairs to reach it. Not for anyone with mobility issues. The stone is reached by lying backwards through a hole. Again not for anyone with a bad back. If you are fit and healthy and it means that much to you then knock yourself out …

Of course there are long lines and it's touristy-- however how can you not stop to kiss the famous stone?! We hauled our 1 & 3 year olds up with us--they both really enjoyed the castle even while waiting in line. Unfortunately, they couldn't kiss the stone as they were too young-- I was disappointed at first, but after seeing it, I'm glad they don't allow kids that young as it is pretty scary and a long way down! I was definitely already nervous being that high up with the kiddos but we survived. My husband and I both gave it a kiss and the little ones blew a kiss for luck. There's definitely enough trivia and things to look at while you snake your way around the castle and they kept people moving pretty fast. You do need to be in good shape and not mind tight spaces-- but you just gotta cross this one off! :)…

The castle and grounds were pretty cool, but I did not expect the Blarney Stone to be located where it was. I won't spoil it for anyone, but I will say to be ready for a challenge if you are not in good physical shape. Buy the pictures they shoot because nobody else will get the same angle.…
