Get in touch with a side of Ireland you won’t experience on the busy streets of Dublin with this full day tour into the Irish countryside. In the morning, head to the northern border for an outdoors adventure: kayak to an ancient ruin, hike across the mountains or go rock-climbing in County Cavan. No experience is needed for these adventures – enjoy plenty of personalized coaching from your guides on this private tour. Afterward, head to a classic Irish pub for a pint and some traditional folk-singing.

Beautiful Forest Park with lots of lakes and walks. A big park so even with lots of visitors it would never be crowded. Decent car park which is well in off the road. It looks a little neglected (closed up buildings and a tatty toilet shed) but the park itself is well worth a visit.

We had a most enjoyable visit to Killykeen Forest Park in County Cavan recently enjoying beautiful walks in wooded areas and by the water. A peaceful and tranquil place, hope to be back again

This is a beautiful forest park which is unfortunately ruined by irresponsible dog owners. Dogs are allowed to roam off lead and out of control, very few dog owners clean up after them and there is a lot of excrement on the paths.

We (family of 5) spent an afternoon here, walking through the forest and along the lake. Beautiful place - lots of open spaces, and park benches for a picnic. Parking is good too. Seems like at one time they (Coillte?) planned to have a cafe / visitor centre beside the car park, but it is all boarded up an neglected now. What a pity. Toilets near the "Bridge car park" were open, clean and "better than you'd expect in a park" according to my wife. Worth a visit on a sunny day.
