Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wailua State Park is around and along the Wailua RIver. It is free to enter and has several historic sites along the road heading up the Wailua valley, including Holoholoku Heiau and the royal birth stones, as well as Opaeka'a Falls. There are some hiking trails, and more. Individually, none of these sites is especially outstanding, but the park with all fo these as a whole offers many things to see and do like this.

Stopped by this lovely gem while staying at the Hilton. There were families swimming, there is a lovely playground and lots of grounds for the kids to burn off some energy.

My wife and I had a great time kayaking and hiking through this area. It was a beautiful day with bright blue skies and it could not have been more scenic. Take your time and enjoy this park.

Stop here as one of our stops on a van tour. Great vantage point of the river from the park, and more chickens in one spot than any we seen in Kauai! We happen to stop at the right time, and were able to see the big river party barge coming up the river on it's trip to the Fern Grotto

We decided to just rent our own kayaks and hike to Uluwehi Falls ( Secret Falls). The kayak trip is easy and about 1/2 to hiking path. Very important to beat the crowds and tour groups by leaving before 8am. We did and had the falls to ourselves though we had to pass two groups on the trail. Coming back was crowded which on the river is not too bad as they are going in other direction but I can only imagine how crowded it got on the boardwalks and narrow hiking paths.

This is a great place to kayak, canoe, or paddle board along the river. Great hikes to the grotto and falls. There are local outfitters and boat trips if you do not have your own.

So much to see, so much to enjoy. Just sit back and listen to the sounds of beauty. Kauai is the most cherished of the Islands. A wonderful place, a wonderful, time. Take it all in and enjoy the calming atmosphere. Kauai will put you there ❤️

Today we had a glimpse of the river from the observation deck. This river is really beautiful. There is a place where you can rent kayaks and go along the river. I strongly recommend this place to anyone.
