Got lucky with the weather and climbed Ben More on a beautifully sunny and warm October day. Great views throughout the climb. Easy to follow track from parking (on the grass verge on the road) up to the summit. Really enjoyed climbing my first Munro!

We were staying on the island for a few days so thought it would be rude not to climb the Ben. Unfortunately we picked the worst day of the week weather wise but that can't be helped. We had climbed Ben Nevis a few days before so I was expecting to breeze it. How wrong was I! A Munro would... More

We stayed for 1 week, in a property inbetween Loch Ba and Loch Na Keal near Ben More. We had a fantastic relaxing time with beautiful weather, cycling, watching sheep dog trials, looking for otters, fishing and generally slowing down from the London pace of life. This was our second visit.

Okay, rubbish weather, but good path. Do it with proper boots, as lots of variety of ground on the way. Very steep at the top, but overall a good clear path most of the way. Would be amazing with good weather

We hiked up this Monroe on my husband's 58th birthday. I had no intention of hiking up to the top, so I sent him on his jogging way. Well I hiked and hiked and hiked and the next thing I knew, I was at the top!!! It is a magnificent view when the sky is clear. It took me 4.5... More

Very lucky that we visited Ben More last year (April 2015) with beautiful weather. Ben More sounds a bit scary for me as I'm a truly beginner for hills and mountains, but it definitely turned out to be easier than I thought. Except for the beginning boggy part on the ground with knee-high grass, the path from the shore side... More

Ben More now remains is the only Munro which must involve a ferry trip before it is climbed. You can still take the ferry to Skye but the bridge is now an option. Its isolated location affords unequalled views which extends as far as the outer isles and even the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland. For Munro baggers short of... More

This is a fairly easy walk and quite pleasant. Turn off A848 just north of Salen, go past Forestry commission offices and stop at the car park with picnic bench in front. Walk down the track, where after a few hundred yards you will see a sign for 'forest walk' follow path uphill, past a wooden bench climbing up through... More

Second walk up Ben More by alt dhiesaig, this is quite boggy on the first pull up so ideally you need waterproof boots on, its also quite steep as you only cover five and a half miles up and down but it is worth the effort as the views on a clear day are stunning, having walked many munro's and... Ben More is a much visited Munro mainly because it is the only one on the (any) island. The start point is much further around than you would think according to the map and directions, however there is a big sign so just keep on going until you see it. The route is fairly straightforward, up and and down. In... More
