This church is stunning with beautiful stained glass, roof vaulting and excellent carrillon bells which play traditional scots tunes. There are regular concerts held at the Kirk by Perth Chamber Music Society, held once a month. On my last visit I attended the Piatti String Quartet who were wonderful. It was a great venue for music and the tickets were... More

We visit this church every year and it is nice and cosy with friendly congregation. Excellent organist. The refurbishment has been done very well, utilising all space and a covered walkway into the hall saves going outside and round.

Perth is a strange city in that it is very compressed; one can walk around it in about an hour, if you are in a hurry. However should you have time on your hands, take a look at St Johns. It is a bit like a Tardis, right in the middle of Perth. The stained glass windows are in themselves... More

One of the oldest buildings in Perth this Church is worth a visit - it is quite spectacular inside and out.

The kirk is in the centre of the town. It stands proud but does not dominate. Inside is worth a visit. There is stonework and wooden ceilings and a variety of interest for those who can find the time to pause and read. It hosts a number of concert events.

The Church was open (seems that it is often closed during the winter months due to lack of volunteers) - welcomed in and given a quick chat on the place and then left to ourselves. Interesting (renovated?) ceilings; a range of ages of stained glass. The church does appear to be considerably larger inside than from the outside, strangely. Hardly... More

As with St Ninians Cathderal in Perth, it's completely closed to visitors from October until March. So much for Perth as a tourist centre and what church especially a cathedral and the oldest church in Perth completely shut for any visitors including worshipers. It's pathetic and affront for any Christian venue.

Impressed by the beautiful sculpture of John the Baptist. Information cards available to help while moving around the church. Woman on duty was extremely pleasant and helpful.
