Culture is at the very heart of Perth and Kinross. Artists, writers and musicians across the ages have found their inspiration here by the River Tay. Perth Museum and Art Gallery houses one of the oldest museum collections in the UK. Our changing exhibition programme explores the heritage and creativity of Perthshire - with a unique selection of art, natural history and archaeology on display to bring these stories to life. The venue also hosts contemporary touring exhibitions. A warm welcome is extended to all, with free activities in the galleries and an annual programme of events to support the exhibitions. The museum offers disabled access, parking nearby and a gift shop.

Quite a lot shut off as starting refurb. If you've kids, take them to the lego exhibit they'll love it. Liked seeing the Scotland through the centuries exhibit, Fossils, famous folks and wildlife to see. Free entry, but you have to pay for legs exhibit.

As a childhood fan of Lego I'd been looking forward to this exhibition, which seems to be proving very popular with families. But as an adult without young children of my own to take along, I felt very out of place. I'm sure lots of grown-ups would enjoy this exhibition, but would feel uncomfortable visiting it by themselves, surrounded by... More

A visit to Perth museum recently brought back memories of childhood visits there and I was not disappointed. A wonderful insight into the history of Perth and many interactive exhibits throughout the building made this an interesting couple of hours.

Have visited the museum a few times and have never been disappointed. They seem to have a lot of child friendly exhibitions and you get to see the permanent stuff as well. Looking forward to visiting this weekend to see the Lego exhibition with my 3 year old!

I visited the museum today around 11:30 and overall I liked it .. spent almost two hours. The entry to the museum is free.. but for brick city gallery entry they charged 4 pounds. In the brick city gallery, There are multiple mini models of famous places constructed using LEGO bricks.

We visited this Lego exhibition on its first day and, unfortunately, the creations of the local people of Perth had not been set up so we will return on another day. The brick city exhibition was very good especially the recreation of St. Pancras Railway Station. The exhibit is 2 metres wide and 4 metres long - what a sight.... More

Three excellent exhibitions on here at the moment. 'Beginnings - The Story of Perth & Kinross. An absolutely fascinating pictorial, written accounts, and artefacts showing 10,000 years of history. 'Art of War', which looks at the depiction of modern conflict by artists from the Victorian period to the present day. 'On the Ground', a look at video art in nature.... More

An enjoyable hour spent in the museum to see a 'War Art' display. The building is light, spacious and well set out. It also caters very well for disabled access to all parts. Recommend time is spent there.
