Nothing to get excited about
Sep 2020
Nairn's 'beach' adjoins the Moray Firth, as opposed to facing the North Sea of towns and villages to the east. It tends to be somewhat narrow, in terms of sand area, and also tends to attract, sometimes substantial, deposits of flotsam and jetsam and major detritus washed down from upstream. (The local council apparently has to use diggers at least once a year to clear major deposits of timber, tree branches, etc.). The promenade that adjoins the beach is very pleasant to walk along but the beach, itself, is nothing exciting at all.

Great for headspace

A great place to walk either alone or with dogs. Friendly people along the way and a chance to collect sea glass and watch dolphins and the occasional basking shark and various sea birds

Lovely way to stretch your legs
Nov 2020 • Solo
Easy walking along a beautiful beach, with a choice of walking on the sand or, formthe most part, through the park. If you are lucky there will be dolphins. Parking at various places en route and open publjc toilets, with suitable precautions just now.

Stunning Beach
Oct 2020 • Couples
Managed to hit it lucky with the weather, dry and sunny, though only 10 degrees. Took the dog for a run on the massive beach. Lots of other walkers and dogs, everyone saying hello and putting their dogs on leads as you passed each other. We walked all the way the to the end and back, lovely way to spend the morning, nice views across the water as well. The dog loved it....We went back the next morning and did it all again. Would love to visit in the summer next time.

Clean expansive beach
Oct 2020
This beach is clean and extends beyond the promenade, with the harbour at one end and a playground at the other end. There are snack huts situated close by and also public toilets. The views across the Moray Firth are well worth a look

A beach with a view
Oct 2020
A lovely stretch of sand, just next to the old Fishertown in Nairn. There is a marina, and it has a caravan site close to hand. There are several places for food and drink or ice creams near by. Be careful of the weather though. On a windy day that breeze can cut through you, especially if there is rain to match.

Glorious place to walk
Sep 2020 • Couples
If the weather is good no better place to walk than here, it seems to have its own micro climate up there and so relaxing

Lovely day out
Sep 2020 • Couples
Lovely clean beach which is family and dog friendly. Lots of people there but all respecting social distancing. Places to eat and a park for the kids. Toilet facilities. Managed to see a basking shark circling both the swimmers, belly boarders and small boats with seal watching on. Well worth a visit.
