This place is firmly on the tourist route, so it's busy busy with tour coaches, but even so it's worth a stop on the way to Skye. Nicely laid out, lots to see inside, good history. Big cafe and gift shop to cater for the...More

The castle itself is small, but pretty and the staff seemed very pleasant. However this is not a guided tour. You enter in one way and make your way through it on your own. There are some folks there in one or two of the...More

We only stay outside for the view of the castle since we know the castle is just rebuilt in 20 century. If the lighting is right the photo can be very charming.

Easy to find if you are driving toward Isle of Skye, the lovely Eilean Donan (Island of Donan) Castle is located close to the village of Dornie and on a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet (Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh)....More

Great castle. Very interesting place with nice touches of personal insight. Incredible views across Loch Alsh. Great coffee shop with home made cakes - worth a visit to the coffee shop itself (you don't have to pay the entrance fee to get in here)

To be honest Katie - the best photos of the castle are taken from outside of the grounds - ie the car park and surrounding shoreline. You will get some stunning shots. I don't think there are any car park barriers after... More

Although we don't have a huge amount of space, yes we will store your luggage while you're visiting the castle.

The castle is on the main road to Skye. Even if there is snow, the road itself will be cleared and passable throughout the winter season.
