I visited with my children in September 2016 and we enjoyed a very interesting tour and had a lovely afternoon out at the Castle. We had tea and cake in the tearoom and the kids loved the freedom to run about the grounds. I would highly recommend the Castle of Mey as a day trip for families as we really... More

Visited with my Mum to celebrate her 70th birthday and in the beginning the staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The ensured my Mum who had bad knees and couldn't take the stairs took the lift so she could see the Queen Mother's room upstairs and her lovely collection of dresses. Things took a rapid nose dive when I was... More

Dear Miss M, Thank you very much for your comments, how lovely it was to meet both you and your Mum in September and we are delighted to hear you found the staff pleasant, polite and helpful until this incident which we, as a team, were horrified to hear about. At the time I could offer no explanation as to... More

Had a wonderful tour round the castle and gardens all,set in a beautiful location on the north coast of Scotland. Then had a fabulous meal in the tearoom served by very friendly staff, the food was excellent and very good sized portions.

We specially went to pet the animals but weren't allowed to pet them. The kids still had a good time but I felt an opportunity was missed.

Knew about this place and were very pleasantly surprised. We can understand why the Queen Mum enjoyed staying here. Each of the rooms was very comfortable but not grand. The guide was knowledgeable and provided anecdotes about how the Queen Mum lived in the house and grounds. A very capable visitor centre with meals and snacks available.

Beautiful surroundings. Super farm for youngsters to have contact and learn from knowledgeable staff about animals and birds. Lovely walled garden ...peaceful and full of interesting plants. Restaurant supplies good food however can be expensive for families....children's boxes need to be reviewed I feel sandwiches are very basic and offer too large portions of bread for little people. Overall a... More
