Steam through the stunning Scottish Highlands in style. Our steam engines take you on a very special trip through the Cairngorms National Park as you travel between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill. Why not make your trip extra special with one of our dining on board options: Light Lunch offers soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee; Afternoon Tea has some sandwiches, scones with jam and cream followed by some delicious cakes; or enjoy a full three course Sunday Lunch or Dinner. Why not upgrade to First Class to enjoy a meal in one of our compartments, finely decorated in it's own tartan, with vintage British Rail mirrors and luggage racks inside. Split your trip up with a visit to Boat of Garten to explore some fantastic walk trails or bring your bike on board to explore the great cycle routes in the area. See if you can beat the train back from Broomhill on your bike!We are also taking part in the Great Railway Treasure Hunt 2013, so there's plenty for the kids to do on the trip!

We had a great day on the train from Broomhill to Aviemore and back. Staff at the station were very helpful and friendly. The engine looked fantastic. Even had time to chat with the engine driver before the train departed and ask for his job!...More

We holiday often to Aviemore and have been dining on the train for a number of years and decided to go again this year. I did think it a bit odd when we had to pre-order our meals prior to our visit and that the...More

Had seen this and thought great for a rainy day. As wheelchair friendly as they can be given it's old rolling stock. Myself and son 2 travelled in the Guards Van as the only one with doors wide enough to get on. Staff were excellent...More

This is indeed a nice trip for a rainy day (and most of the days here have been rain) but the views from the train are a little disappointing as they don't include any of the lochs. We went for the 1st class lunch in...More

We bought a return ticket from Boat of Garten to Broomehill and then to Aviemore and back. Broomehill is the site of Glenbogle from Monarch of the Glen. Don't get off at this stop, it's a car park in the middle of nowhere - nothing...More

Firstly the positives; Nostalgic, Some good food, great Piper to set us on our way. Unfortunately the negatives far outweigh the positives. The starter was poor with a tasteless salmon & prawn; the main pork belly though was delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding....More

The railway is superbly kept and easily accessible via the Aviemore mainline station. Regrettably there is not much to do within walking distance of the other two stations on the line so the joy is in the journey itself but we thoroughly enjoyed the return...More

Unless you receive a response from someone who has done a hop on, hop off trip, it might be best to email the Strathspey Railway and ask them directly. I personally didn't see any attractions that was worth a 2 hour walk... More

We got off to stretch our legs on the platform. The toilets were freshly decorated no graffiti anywhere to be seen. There is a small gift shop in the ticket office

I believe that there were dogs on the train when we visited. As the other person said check the web site and give hem a call. The trip on the train is great.
