Rest stop

After a day walking around the shops we stopped and sat on the grass to relax and rest our sore feet and watched the world go by before going on our way again.

George Square is right next to Queen street station and Im sure it used to be nice until they painted it pinky orange and ripped up the grass. At best its good to get across in a hurry. A couple of statues and surrounded by City chambers and about 25 pubs

It's just a square- nothing too special about it but it's right in the centre of glasgow so you may as well go and visit

Lovely Victorian square with some amazing buildings. Close to main amtenities. The square has quite a few statues to look at and admire.

George Square, in the heart of central Glasgow, is the largest open space in this area of Glasgow and is used for many important public events. This large, paved area is often referred to as Glasgow's 'Red Square', due to the bright color of the red asphalt. Attractions at Glasgow's George Square including many Glasgow landmarks and monuments, such as... More

Fascinating to see the history of Glasgow too, we were only there briefly but found it a pleasant place to walk around.

Nothing much changes.... young people still sit here and have their lunch... watching the world go by.... always surrounded by the statues of these inspirational characters.... I didn't get a close up photo of the Architecturally Stunning City Chambers (iPhone died).... a lovely part of the City ... oh and just off the Square---Wellington still wears his "Cone"....👌

We stayed in our hotel on George Square. It could not have been in a better position. The square is very impressive with all the buildings lit up at night. The airport bus stops and picks up here and the open bus city tours start a finish here although a month warmer than February should be considered. Queen St station... More

Watching a variety of pipebands was wonderful even though the rain was falling. The old buildings and beautifully maintained greenery makes it a very special place.

This is a must see sight whenever visiting Glasgow. There is always something going on and there are excellent architecture surrounding this place. The Xmas time is the best time to visit due to it being decorated with xmas lighting and fair. Would always visit.
