Love visiting the grounds for a walk, it can be so peaceful and relaxing. As NTS members we regularly visit places for walks with our dog. At every other site we’ve been to the parking meter has said members park free by displaying your sticker. Not here. You have to walk from the car park to the main house to greet a bit of paper to go put back in your windscreen. When I asked why I was told the council “don’t recognise the stickers as proof of membership”?! Not sure why it’s good enough for every other site but not in Glasgow! Also came across two dogs off leads, one of which came daring over to ours barking before standing barking (and not in a friendly manner). Still, we love it here and our experience today won’t put us off visiting again. It might have been a faff, but it’s worth it!!

I went to this location on a whim while staying in Glasgow. I am so glad I did! the staff in each room were very friendly and knowledgeable and very happy to answer questions. The gardens were also very lovely. You will need to pay for parking - and the machine does not take card, so bring coins!

This was my first visit since the Burrell re-opened and I was a bit disappointed. For a start all of the free parking is now gone. It's only £2.90 for 4 hours, but free was better. You used to pop in for a walk on the way home from places. Now I'll want my money's worth so no short visits!
Of course the grounds of the park are still beautiful, the Highland cows still fascinating, the main house worth walking by to get to the river. However, now that the Burrell is a shadow of its former interesting self there is nowhere near 4 hours worth of viewing here. Sadly. Visit Rouken Glen, or a great variety of Glasgow's other parks instead – before the planners get in and 'improve' them!

While Covid may have closed down many things - including the museums here - you can still walk the extensive grounds and by the riverside. The highland cows are always lovely to watch for a wee while as well! It is nice to get out of the house, and this park encourages that at a time when we need all the help we can get!

The park offers varied walking, sitting, riverside and woodland beauty, formal gardens and excitement for children. The fairy garden, dinosaur ‘remains’, play-park near the Burrell occupy children for hours in a creative way.
Café a huge disappointment and very poor value. The small tub of lukewarm, watery soup, poor range of overpriced filled rolls, none of which are likely to appeal to children, are all that’s offered at lunchtime.
But the park makes up for a lot. However, beware that you can’t take your car in at weekends! This necessitates a very long walk from the entrances unless you have a blue badge.

Can’t believe I only learnt about this place recently. We booked online for a small fee, and the house was beautiful. The staff were very nice and knew all about the history of the property.
The gardens outside were gorgeous. And very clean and well looked after.

Hi. Can you just visit tea room, or do you still pay entry?

yes, you can just visit the tea room within Pollk House. It's in the restored kitchen of the estate house and serves lovely lunches and cakes. On a nice day you can also sit out in the garden terrace. try it!
