Very nice neighbourhood with the botanical gardens, perfect for the good weather. Also don’t miss Oran Mor, specially a Play, a Pint and a Pie, a very Glaswegian experience!

An upmarket area to visit. Be it museums, restaurants or a good night out - this is the place. Very cosmopolitan with a really good feel about it. Enjoyed by students and fairly trendy.

Ashton lane has some decent pubs but overall i'd stick to Buchanan area for a night on the piss. West End of more of a place for hipsters.

Vibrant area, great pubs and restaurants and the subway makes it so easy to get to Glasgow City Centre and beyond. Lovely walks in the Botanical Gardens.

Having lived in the West end since 1971 till 1990 its my favourite part of Glasgow the shops are interesting. The oxfam book shop is very good. The Botanical Gardens are wonderful. The University museum is a must visit. Also kelvingrove park and museum.

The West End is extensive, and great to wander around if you have a few hours to spare. There are lots of lovely statues and coffee shops tucked away, and some great walks and restaurants too.

A must visit if ever in Glasgow. Stunning Neo-Gothic university buildings, magnificent parks and gardens, museums, churches, multi-cultural cafes and restaurants, trendy bars and classic shops abound. Strolling around the area is a real pleasure and my wife and I can’t wait to return.

I'd definitely recommend getting the underground to the botanical gardens as parking can be tricky. Some side streets do have parking available, but the availability can be a bit hit or a miss!

The Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road is probably your best bet.
