Walking through The Barras gave us a feel for the city of Glasgow. Glasgow, a city which defines itself by its people ("People Make Glasgow"), is on display here at the Barras. A definite feeling of seeing the "real" city. Watch the open times, as...More

Probably over 10 years since i have been to the Barras. In it's day it was thriving and such a fun place to visit. Now it is dying on its feet with most of the stalls empty or closed shops. Those that are open either...More

This was recommended by a friend who is Scottish when I told her we would be in Glasgow. I sell things online that I find in markets and thrift shops, so of course this was something I wanted to add to the itinerary. Easy enough...More

Barras market is a legendary Glasgow landmark, so to me it was a must to visit even if it was only to say that I've been there. Well now I've been I can't say that I'm too impressed. The market consists of a couple of...More
