Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having visited a few times previously (the house and gardens are lovely to wander round) we managed today to have a tour led by Gill. She was incredibly knowledgable about the house and it’s former residents. Understanding a bit more of the history of the place made us notice many aspects, artefacts, and interesting paintings in the house. A fabulous afternoon.
Would previously have recommended a visit but if you can arrange a tour too I am sure you want be disappointed.

Did a guided tour of the house. Very interesting and well conserved. What a wonderful family who cared about their employees. Gardens are beautiful. Had a lovely tea and scone in the tearoom which used to be the old kitchen.

Its a fine National Trust of Scotland manged House and park. However it closes often for Weddings or other money making events and members and the public are made very unwelcome on those occasions.
The cafe in the original Staff basement is fun rather than great, and now has inside and outside seating.

I have been a lunchtime regular at pollok house for many years. I was disappointed at my visit on Friday that it was a snack bar . I had a gluten free sandwich, which was made for me, only to discover half way through that it had been served on mouldy bread. I did get a refund but I was I’ll that night. As a consequence of this poor service I will not be back

Visited the Burrell museum first so we were pretty pooped out by the time we arrived especially because of the huge distance between pollock house and the Burrell!
First the ticket price was stupid high when other places we visited in Glasgow were free!!
The staff were also pretty rude and there accents were pretty difficult to hear (but that isn’t really their fault) we took part in the tour (which wasn’t a tour by the way just a short lecture about the house) which didn’t mention any of the art or furniture in the house (which is what we were interested in (not some old British lord)) we’d also seen something about ”hornel“ in other reviews but when we tried going upstairs we were stopped by a female member of staff who told us ir was closed!!
Cafe was ok but nothing special and also OVERPRICED!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

This was very disappointing. One nice young woman at the entrance and 2 guys. None of whom seemed to have much awareness of the collection.
This is sold on the basis of the collection of Spanish art. But there is no explanation of its importance when you're there. Some are hung high up so you can't read the labels. Plus the 1st floor was closed so we missed some.
Very poor, NTS should be ashamed.

Lots of staff & volunteers to answer your questions about the House & Estate. The downstairs with its domestic staff areas is especially interesting… the cafe is located in the former kitchen which has much authentic detail. At the time of our visit the top floor had an exhibition of Japanese inspired paintings by Hornel (one of the Glasgow Boys) … & origami folding for the young & young at heart.

Worth a visit in the house itself lots to see. You will probably spend around 2 hours in the house and there are staff around to give you some background on the house as well. There is a coffee shop on site also with inside and outside seating areas. There are lots of walks to do around the grounds of the house with some beautiful views
