Great place to visit on a sunny day.
Sep 2021
We visited the botanical gardens on 8th September. It was a lovely day weather-wise and we really enjoyed seeing all the exotic plants in the conservatories. We had lunch in the tea room which was delicious and then walked around the grounds. It was a perfect afternoon.

Beautiful park in beautiful sunshine. Very busy, but was great 'people watching' 😂
Park is very well kept with public toilets which are supervised and spotlessly clean. Well done ⭐️

This was an unexpected hit. Not usually taken with horticultural places but was really impressed with the size of the main glasshouse. Well used grounds with some excellent bedding areas.

Lovely afternoon at the botanic gardens, the weather was lovely, managed to walk round one of the glasshouses and took quite a few photos. Walked around outside too. Would recommend

A boring and unimpressive gardens.
Jul 2021
We were utterly disappointed from our visit in the botanic gardens, as they offered very little to see.
It took us less than 30 minutes to see EVERYTHING the garden has to show, and that's actually saying everything.
Skip it.

Great greenhouses with wonderful plants.
Aug 2021 • Solo
Lovely gardens with a variety of plants. The greenhouses are definitely worth going to as they are simply stunning. The main one has many statues in it as well as the succulents, ferns and venomous plants. It is really well laid out with gorgeous displays. The other greenhouses are wonderful to one containing a banana tree and a cola tree. Unfortunately some walkways are blocked off due to covid although there is still lots open. The rose garden is bare this time of year however so if you wanted to see the roses I'd suggest going earlier in the season. Overall the place has a relaxing atmosphere and is great for a walk. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Glasgow.

See the herb garden!
Jul 2021
This parkland is worth a visit just for the relaxing atmosphere.
The medicinal herb garden has a wide range of plants including many that have been scientifically proved to have medicinal properties.

Lovely.

Lovely relaxing tour around the glasshouses.
So much to see alongside the plants and flowers. I was also lucky enough to visit on a beautiful sunny day so had a stroll around the gardens and sat and relaxed in the sun on one of the many benches.

Having worked close by for 16 years, this is a place i regularly return to. It can be busy but still maintains an air of peace and tranquility. On this perfect weather day the scents and sights of the floral displays were quite breathtaking. The futuristic shapes of the palace domes make for a visual feast. A West End must see attraction minutes walk from Hillhead Subway Station.

Yes, as the architectural experience of the hothouse will be the same, but less crowded....and is cosy warm in the worst of scottish weather!

Is there a bus from buchanan street to the gardens

The best way is via the underground station from Buchanan Street to Hillhead, and walk a short distance. There may well be a street map at the station.

The clockwork orange (the SPT) is brilliant you should get off at hill head and walk up the hill. You will go past Waitrose on the left. With a Waitrose loyalty card you can get a free coffee to take into the garden. You can get one for each adult. On the right just down Cresswell street superdrug and oxfam books are on the corner you can get fabulous milkshakes at the Atrium cafe. Oxfam books is wonderful to buy a book to read in the botanical. It is roughly £9 to get a taxi from the middle of town to the gardens so if there are several of you this may be the cheaper option. There is a taxi rank outside the gardens for a return trip. We love the cafe right in the gardens it sells very fresh food. Hope this helps!
