About
Following an eight month £5.7m refurbishment, The Corinthian Club reopened its doors in late August 2010.Scotland’s leading artisan craftsmen spent hundreds of man-hours painstakingly creating aspects of the building, including a mosaic floor made of more than half a million tiles, over a thousand hand moulded acanthus leaves, fitting hand carved panels and restoring ornate wooden detailing. The iconic 26’ Corinthian dome remains a focal point in the new Tellers Bar and Brasserie where designers have also uncovered a stairway, once the route to the cells of the High Court, which now leads to the relaxed, organically-styled Mash and Press Rooms.A new addition to the venue, The Corinthian Club now boasts the most stunning gaming facilities in the country.Other highlights include the glittering Boutique, offering everything from afternoon tea to evening cocktails and housing the venue’s high-end retail space for ladies to enjoy a spot of retail therapy in the luxurious comfort of the plush velvet and sparkling crystal interior. It’s the first time a Glasgow entertainment venue has incorporated a pop-up retail space into one of its bars and, true to style, The Corinthian Club’s range has already featured high-end clothing and accessories from Comme des Garçons, Agent Provocateur and Boudiche.Bootleg takes its inspiration from a 1920s American speakeasy and is proving a huge hit with gents. Serving the finest matured sprits from around the world, Bootleg is also home to a secret cocktail which, in homage to its speakeasy roots, is only available to those who know it exists. The bar itself is fashioned out of traditional bank safes and the floor is made from a 500,000 piece mosaic tiles which have been painstakingly hand-crafted to form the image of Queen Victoria as she appeared on old banknotes - in a nod to the building’s past life as the Union Bank of Scotland. The new Corinthian Club has revolutionised Glasgow’s meeting, eating, socialising and gaming scene, boasting 14 rooms spaced across 5 floors. Creating more than 200 jobs for the city, the unique venue is open 24 hours and is the only one of its kind in the UK to offer a range of bars, clubs, restaurant, meetings rooms as well as a stunning gaming room all under one roof.Preserving much of the 260 year old Grade A listed building, internationally renowned Glasgow design firm Graven Images was commissioned to work alongside Scotland’s leading artisans - creating a stunning fusion of traditional craftsmanship and cool modern design.

Beautiful building, poor experience
Sep 2021 • Couples
Disappointed to say the least. Really nice building and looks amazing in the evening but poor service and a freezing room made it a place where we probably wouldn’t return. Maybe Covid has meant that it is lacking in atmosphere and who knows when things are back to normal then we might just try it again. The only thing I would recommend here are the olives, we love olives and eaten them all around the world but these were out of this world. But now the downsides, eating a bowl of mussels with no side bowls or anything to clean your hands (even when they said they would bring some none appeared). To top it off the waiter came over at 9:45 and said do we want anything else to drink as it’s last orders. We only sat down 45 minutes earlier and was just tucking into the main course which we think is telling us to hurry up as they wanted to close. We could only see one other couple but that’s no excuse! Poor experience all round I’m afraid.

Faultless
Sep 2021 • Couples
We had originally booked elsewhere which got cancelled due to Covid. I am so pleased we booked here as an alternative as we had the best time. We’ve been for drinks several times but never food. From the minute we arrived we were looked after so well and had a fantastic meal from start to finish. The surroundings are beautiful, the staff an absolute pleasure and the cocktails delicious. We will definitely be back.

Afternoon tea
Aug 2021
My husband and I went to the Corinthian for afternoon tea. Service was good but basically involved bringing two coffees and 2 cake stands to the table and bringing our bill at the end. The food was average and pleasant enough other than the scones which were very dry and stale. I had a gift voucher for afternoon tea for one (value £25) and so was expecting a bill of £25 for the second afternoon tea. To my surprise a 10% service charge was added on to the bill , this was 10% of the value of the gift voucher + 10% of the cost of one afternoon tea coming to a total of £5. This was not an optional charge. I checked the food menu we had been given on arrival and there was no mention of a service charge for tables of two. On returning home I checked the Corinthians website and again no mention of such a service charge. Annoyed by this, in particular the service charge that had been applied to the gift voucher, I sent an e mail to the Corinthian querying the service charge. That was over 2 weeks ago and no response. I'm disappointed really. This kind of thing puts me off buying gift vouchers for the Corinthian for others if they are then going to slap on an inappropriate service charge on redemption of the vouchers!!! Lack of response to my e mail doesn't do them any favours either.

Hi sharondL1025TA,
We are so disappointed to read this review of a recent visit you had to us. We are happy that the service was good from our team and that the afternoon tea was pleasant.
In regards to our service charge this is very much optional and I am sorry that this was not conveyed at the time of purchase or paying as all our teams are instructed to make our guests aware of this.
In regards to hearing back from us can we ask where this email was sent to? If you do have the time please contact us on dutymanager@thecorinthainclub.co.uk so we can speak further on this.
Many Thanks

Absolutely amazing
Sep 2021 • Couples
The Sunday roast platter for 2 represented good value - copious amounts of 2 meats and accompanying vegetables were more than ample to satisfy our varacious appetites.... followed by devine desserts of pannacota and artisan cheeseboard.... attentative and efficient staff in a stunning venue - not to be missed.

Stunning
Aug 2021
Me and my husband came across the Corinthian purely by chance on our last day in Glasgow. We had an exceptional Scottish brunch (served until 2pm) followed by cocktails on their small roof terrace. I had the Corinthian Club cocktail which was a little too sweet for my palate, but my husband loved his Espresso martini. The decor throughout is absolutely stunning, and the service is impeccable. This is a real jewel.

A perfect evening!
Aug 2021 • Family
My family arranged a lovely surprise evening for my 60th birthday at The Corinthian. We had a private room which was lovely, a beautiful meal and then had the room until 11pm for dancing and games. My family members were allowed into the room in the afternoon to decorate it.
Thando looked after us for the evening and was such a pleasant, friendly, helpful member of staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I believe Beth was the member of staff my family communicated with when planning the evening and they were full of praise for her too.
All in all it was a wonderful night. Beautiful surroundings, excellent food and great service. Thank you.

Disappointing visit
Jul 2021
No doubt this place could have been great, our visit was supposed to be the highlight of our groups trip to Glasgow, We all left feeling very disappointed, None of the larger areas were accessible to us due to a wedding and private parties being held in the more salubrious parts of the building. Having booked for 6 we were asked to sit apart at 2 small tables for 4 (weird) .Eventually moved to small window booth which left 2 of us hanging of the edge of our seats. Asked if we could go onto the rooftop terrace but told it was closed due to Covid??. The whisky cocktail was almost undrinkable the others were fine and the beer was on point..
All the staff we spoke to were fine but it just wasn't the experience we had been looking forward to after reading such good reviews.
Spent a right few quid in the short time we were there but left feeling underwhelmed.

Hi omalley50,
We are so very disappointed to hear that your experience with us was not as you expected. As you know we have many rooms through out the venue that we utilise to the best of our ability to accommodate all. We are sorry that your original table space was not suitable for you but our team tried to accommodate you at another table.
We would be delighted to speak to you further on your experience with us, if you do have the time please email us at dutymanager@thecorinthianclub.co.uk and we will pass this to our General Manager.
Have a great day

Great Experience
Jul 2021 • Couples
Myself and my husband dined in your establishment on Saturday, and I have kept forgetting to do this!! I was served by a young gentleman think his name was Ryan? we where in the room with the big dome. He’s just brand new to the team on his first weekend (he told us he only started on Thursday) You would think he was there for years he was so attentive nothing was an issue and I am very much looking forward to my next visit. Service was first class even in that heatwave he remained professional. I have never actually done a tripadvisor review before but he told me to leave one because I said I had a great experience..
