Wide open expanse of sand when the tide is out. This is somewhere you can walk and forget about everyday issues and just enjoy nature.

This is such a fantastic beach. Really easy to get to, on the outskirts of the town of St Andrews. Parking is fantastic. Its a lovely place to walk your dog too - far enough away from big roads, that you can let your dog run about a fair bit (ours is good off the lead but run s so... More

This wonderful beach still has all the charm of the opening credits from Chariots of Fire. Looks exactly the same it did then and easily accessible. Just take a coat! It can get windy. On a sublime day you should take a picnic basket of food and drink and just relax.

Almost endless miles and miles of beautiful beach. Ideal for running, walking, dogs, kites, just plain ole sunbathing and picnics.

Reknowned for the opening scene in the Chariots of Fire where the filming took place. Breathtaking expanse of coastline particular on a bright Winter's day.

Great beach. I run regularly, and it's about 1.5-2 miles to the end. Just don't go round the corner at the top, unless the sand is solid - can get stuck! :)

Its not often you get to walk or run if your adventurous on a movie film set without being beaten badly by bouncers. For those of you who remember the film 'Chariots of Fire' you will of course remember the opening scenes. If not go rent a copy. Anyway the scene opens with a set of young athletes running along...
