On a headland to the north of St Andrews stand the ruins of the town's castle, the main residence of the bishops and archbishops of St Andrews - the focal point of the Church in medieval Scotland. Today explore the underground 16th century siege mine and countermine and the bottle dungeon. There is a visitor centre with exhibition.

Visited the castle on a wet day. The castle itself is ok with good coastal views. I thought £6 was a tad overpriced considering there's not much left of the castle to explore. I wouldn't recommend anyone go out there way to see it but...More

A great ruin of a castle with some fantastic history to it. Lots of effort has been made to make this enjoyable for all ages.

The heavy fog on the day we visited, or "har" as it is known to the locals, allowed for some very beautiful and unique photos.
