We (a group of 12) spent three days in the highlands on our own bus with Fred as an excellent tourguide. His knowledge of both history and nature made the tour fascinating. We could not have had a better guide. Scotland is definitely the most...More

The tour guide Fred was pretty rude, didn't allow anyone to speak (no matter how quietly) while he spoke and went on and on about rules and boring stuff while barely telling us anything about history, myths etc as other tour guides usually do. I've...More

I did the original Loch Ness tour today and it is totally worth it! The scenery was amazing and driver Peter made it even better! Best tour guide! Coach was also new and in a good condition. I highly recommend it.

We have brought groups to the UK for over twenty five years, and have used Scotline Tours for our ground transportation. They have quality drivers, safe and technically sound coaches, and are very reliable in every respect.

The trip seemed to be thrown together at the last minute. The return bus ride was 4 hours without a rest stop. Paul the driver/tour guide was informative but not engaging.

We went on the Highland Highlights tour in July 2017. The tour is based on 5 different days that go to 5 different areas in Scotland. So you get different guides and different people. It had its advantages - you get different views and different...More

I believe I was on the bus with the previous reviewer and we also really enjoyed the 12-hour Highlands tour with Mike and Lewis. This was so worth doing! Even if you have a rental car, you wouldn't be able to cover nearly as much...More

I'm normally not a big fan of coach tours (usually leaves me exhausted at the end of the day). But the tour guide (I forgot his name, but spoke/looked exactly like Joe Viterelli) really did a fantastic job of adding to the "Scottish" experience. He...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

We stayed in an apartment for a week so that is not within my experience. There are Premier Inns and Travelodges in Edinburgh as well as other more expensive places. Try the VisitScotland website.
