I greatly enjoyed this two hour tour. The readings and visits to some of the locations featured in the Rebus books were excellent and will help me enjoy the books even more. I found Colin very likeable and entertaining and several of us chatted to...More

Reading through all the reviews quite clearly different people like different things. This tour is not expensive at £10 per head but I found it hard work nonetheless. There was no attempt to get to know the group, or encouragement for them to get to...More

The presentation style does not suit everyone. Finding out more about the group and talking to them between stops would improve this tour. The information about the history of Edinburgh, and background literature was interesting. Some introduction to what was ahead, at the start of...More

We came across this via Google and could not resist a tour that included readings and places from the Inspector Rebus books by Ian Rankin. The 2 hours flew by and we had a wonderful time. We will now be able to picture several of...More

Colin does a terrific tour of Edinburgh and Rebus books - even for a non-Rebus reader! The readings add an extra dimension to the sights and parts of Rebus stories.

We went on a lovely sunny dry Saturday, 7th October. My husband hasn't ever read a Rebus book and he really enjoyed the walk. It's a mix of Rebus and local history (both are linked but Colin made it very enjoyable). I haven't read some...More

Spent a lovely sunny but cold day on this tour. The group met at the Royal Oak pub, which features in a book, it is a lovely cosy wee pub. Colin was excellent, really informative and funny. There were reading aplenty from the books. Loved...More

Had a great time on this Rebus tour with Colin. He was so enthusiastic and entertaining the whole way round. There is also lots of local history thrown in amongst the rebus facts! Colin also did readings from the books which I thought were great....More

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything
but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street;
even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
