One of my favourite places, ever

A beautiful and long stretch of beach. I love going there when outside is dark, and walk on this stretch of beach without socks and feel the freezing water.

A walk along Portobello prom is as lovely on a cold day and it is on a warm day. It will certainly blow away any cobwebs! Beautiful

Great coffee, and the pastries and cakes looked great too, but as they were not gluten free I couldn't have them. You are missing a trick cafe miro, whoever did the bakery products is obviously very skilled. Add a gluten free almond cake or something similar, and you could be top notch.

Visited here on cold windy day possibly more interesting and enjoyable on a summer's day with lots of interesting cafes and eating places along the promenade a very holiday beach attraction for locals and tourist alike. Lack of public toilets is it's down fall so be prepared when visiting. Good looking beach as far as UK beaches are concerned and... More

We were here on a sunny winter's day and it was lovely. A long stretch of clean looking sand on the beach and excellent views across the Forth. There is free parking close by and quite a few nice looking cafes and restaurants although we didn't try any. There's also a little amusements which was popular with kids. Great place... More

I really enjoyed the walk I took with my girlfriend on the Portobello promenade on the 1st of January. This is not exactly a touristic spot, but definitely an identity-place for locals. Many benches, nice view, lots of families, happy dogs and seagulls. A handful of cafes - we visited Miro's which was quite nice indeed!

We have visited Edinburgh many times but only just found this beautiful beach. In winter it's lovely with great coffee shops to dive into. Must be great in summer, although it'll never be warm, I guess, beginning the East coast of Scotland. But still, a Great British Beach!
