It sounds like you really enjoyed hopping on and off the tours with us. It would be helpful if you could contact me with the date and time of your disappointing final experience. It's very rare for us to get negative feedback about our...More

Bought a two day ticket for all three tours. Best one was with live commentary with Christine. Really informative and well presented. Lots of historic info and a really good route around the city. The best way to orientate yourself and see the sights.

We prepaid our HOHO ticket on Viator and it gave us a two day window to use the HOHO and the castle fast-pass once we redeemed our voucher, in our case - the bus driver took care of this swift transaction and we never had to worry about the next bus...I can't recall, but I believe they gave us a card to show when we boarded the next desired bus route. We paid a small entry fee to Holyrood Place upon arrival - you pay on the day you visit. Not related to the HOHO/Castle tickets. Same for the Royal Yacht. In every other port I formed small group tours with others on our Cruise Critic board. Not necessary in Edinburgh...look online to map out your desired itinerary using the HOHO map/schedule. Go to the castle when the doors open!!! I'm one who likes to be organized and the HOHO proved to be a perfect fit for our needs. We were out of the castle before the mad rush hit. We were in Edinburgh for one day so we had to make the most of our day. We packed a PB&J sandwich so we couldn't waste time waiting in restaurants - food was not a priority. Yes, I was shocked with how well the HOHO option worked for us. A first - I've always avoided in the past after seeing the long lines in Barcelona, along with crowded buses...not an issue in Edinburgh.
